I started yoga in 2014 mainly as a means to counter my weight lifting and cycling regimen. I was seeking more flexibility in hopes to prevent injury and see improvements in my sport.
I quickly began to realize the more I practiced the better I felt. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. My eyes were soon opened to the powerful healing ability yoga possessed. It helped me overcome decades’ worth of self-defeating beliefs formed from past traumas. Allowed me to be grounded in my hearts voice and lead me through struggles with depression. My anxiety began to disappear and the bright joyous person I’d lost years before returned. It changed every aspect of my life and helped me cope with the inevitable losses that came with such growth.
I’ve trained in the Tantric tradition of Sri Vidya under Shanon Buffington. Tantra Yoga is considered the most comprehensive of yoga practices. Combining meditation, pranayama, mantra, and physical postures to create deep energetic shifts needed to heal both body and mind. Additionally, I have trained with Baron Baptiste, Stacy Shepherd in Baptiste methodology and with Rod Stryker in ParaYoga.
