Very knowledgeable and respectful. I feel safer knowing the lessons that were taught to my daughter and myself. I highly recommend taking lessons in this crazy and unsafe world. I am more aware of my surroundings and feel better prepared for the unexpected.

The instructors are amazing! Very patient and kind. Willing to help you work through each move with confidence, gives you courage to try new things, and overall creates a safe environment for learning Jiu-Jitsu. As a female I have often felt unsafe and unwelcome in many areas in life, but here I am able to train without discomfort!

    Frequently asked questions

I begin by learning your goals, experience level, and any physical considerations. From there, I guide you through a short movement assessment to understand how you respond under light pressure. Based on that, I create a personalized training plan focused on simple, effective skills that work in real situations. Each session follows a clear structure—fundamentals, technique, controlled practice, and real-world application—so you build confidence and capability from day one.
I hold both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Krav Maga Black Belts, and I'm a United States Marine, where I trained extensively in close-quarters combat, stress-response conditioning, and real-world threat management. Over the years, I’ve completed advanced coursework in self-defense, personal protection, and violence-prevention strategies, along with ongoing instructor development through multiple martial arts and defensive systems. My training blends military experience, decades of martial arts, and practical, pressure-tested methods designed to work in real-life situations — not just in a classroom.
Yes. My pricing is structured by session type and the level of personalization involved. Private, in-home training is billed at a flat session rate, while small-group and corporate sessions have tiered pricing based on group size and program length. I also offer multi-session packages for students who want consistent, long-term training. Every option is designed to be straightforward, with no hidden fees and no long-term contracts. Once I learn more about your goals and schedule, I can recommend the exact plan that fits your needs.
I got started teaching after years of training, military service, and real-world experience showed me how unprepared most people are for actual violence. As a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and Marine, I realized I had a responsibility to share practical skills that truly keep people safe. What began as helping friends and coworkers quickly grew into formal lessons, workshops, and eventually full-time professional instruction. Teaching became a natural extension of my training — a way to empower others with the confidence and capability to protect themselves.
I’ve worked with a wide range of students — from complete beginners to advanced martial artists. My clients include professionals, parents, teens, military veterans, college students, survivors of violence, and high-net-worth individuals who prefer private in-home training. I also train corporate teams, school staff, and community groups. Whether someone wants confidence, fitness, or real-world protection skills, I tailor the training to their needs, experience level, and comfort.
One recent event that really stands out to me was a private session with a family I’ve been training for a few weeks. About halfway through, their 12-year-old daughter — who started extremely shy and hesitant — executed a clean, confident escape technique she had struggled with since day one. Her reaction was priceless. She froze for a moment, realized she actually did it, and then gave a huge smile. Her parents saw it too — that moment where skill turns into confidence. It reminded me why I teach. Seeing someone go from unsure and timid to capable and proud never gets old. Those are the moments that stay with me long after the session ends.
Look for an instructor who trains the way people actually get attacked — not the way it looks in movies or choreographed demonstrations. Make sure they can explain why a technique works, not just how to perform it. Ask about their real-world experience, how they test their methods under pressure, and how they adapt training to different body types, ages, and physical limitations. Most importantly, choose someone whose teaching style makes you feel safe, confident, and respected. A good instructor should prioritize your goals, challenge you at the right pace, and create an environment where you can learn without fear or ego. Skills matter, but the right relationship and training structure matter even more.
Before reaching out to an instructor, it helps to get clarity on a few key things: What are your goals? Do you want real-world self-defense, confidence, fitness, stress relief, or long-term martial arts training? What is your current experience level? Be honest about whether you’re a complete beginner or have prior training — it helps the instructor tailor the approach. Do you have any physical limitations or injuries? Knowing this early ensures the training is safe, effective, and adapted to your body. What type of training environment do you prefer? Private in-home training? Small groups? A structured curriculum? A more flexible schedule? How much time can you realistically commit? Frequency and consistency matter more than intensity. What situations concern you the most? Nighttime travel, workplace safety, domestic issues, kids’ safety, parking lots — your real life dictates your training plan. How do you learn best? Step-by-step breakdowns? Hands-on practice? Visual demonstration? Scenario-based training? The clearer you are about these areas, the easier it is for the right instructor to build a plan that truly fits your needs — not just a generic curriculum.
