About

I believe in yoga and mindful movement for everyone, no matter what body you inhabit. Yoga is a life-changing element to finding balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

I have three years of dedicated home practice experience, in addition to being a certified RYT 200. I am registered with Yoga Alliance and insured for your protection.

I came to yoga through my art practice. I look for ways to integrate creativity into my teaching, whether it be in themed classes or actual creative activities such as intuitive painting, drawing as meditation, and sketchbook journaling.

In addition to yoga, I offer freelance art services such as illustration, indoor and outdoor murals, portraits and decor, and commissions of all kinds. I have a Master's of Fine Art and many years of experience as an artist, and in teaching others to develop their own unique creative potential.

Whether you are wanting to learn to draw or paint, develop a personal yoga practice, or find a way to explore these things together, I will bring my passion and energy to the table for you!

I love the way yoga makes me feel, and how it has positively affected my life, from my physical health to my inner landscape. In much the same way, being an artist and maker energizes me and helps me grow.

Sharing these passions with others as a teacher or by creating custom pieces of art for their lives challenges and inspires me. I truly believe that everyone is creative and everyone deserves to feel good in their bodies. I love teaching and sharing my journey with others so that they can begin their own explorations and enrich their lives and environments.

    Frequently asked questions

We will have a conversation where I find out what you want and need in an instructor.

Yoga:We will discuss any injuries or limitations,  and together we will evaluate these to see how I can best serve your individual needs. I will have you sign a waiver, and I will get your contact information and any other pertinant info so that we can set up your session(s).

Art: We will discuss your vision and desires for the project(s). We will come to an agreement about your budget and set up a schedule for services rendered, such as a project timeline for commissions (murals, illustrations, art pieces, etc.) or a class/session schedule for instruction, whether it be several sessions or a workshop setting. I will provide you with a contract for services, and any documentation of the project that you need. If you are taking classes or a workshop, I will provide a timeline, summary of the class, list of materials needed, etc.

I have completed a Yoga Alliance approved 200 hour training program, to deepen my practice and to learn how to share yoga with all types of students. I am currently in the process of completing a Prenatal Yoga training program, and will be pursuing specialized training in Ayurveda and Yin later this year, so that I can offer a more holistic learning experience, and grow as a teacher and practitioner.

In terms of art, I have a Master's of Fine Arts degree in visual art, with a focus on painting, illustration, and stop-motion animation. I also have my Bachelor's of Fine Art in Painting and Drawing & Design. In addition to formal training, I have many years of experience as an artist and in teaching others how to draw and paint in formal and informal settings.

I am open to discussing your budget and your vision. Specific price sheets for my services are coming soon!

I have worked with many different students, from children to adults. In yoga, I have worked primarily with adults, but have done mindful movement with children as a substitute public school teacher in the past as a strategy for helping them harness their energy in a positive way and find focus. I have worked with yound adults through older people as a teacher. The experience levels have ranged from complete beginner to advanced practitioner.

As an art instructor, again, I have worked with all ages, from small children to older adults. Skill levels have ranged from complete beginner to skilled artists.

I think the most important thing when looking for a teacher is if you resonate well with one another. I have learned from teachers working in completely different styles than my own, and with different goals in mind, and I have worked with teachers whose approach and vision align closely with my own. The one thing that made the difference was the connection and synergy.

Ask yourself: Do I feel inspired and excited when I talk to this person? Does his/her work make me feel good? Does their teaching style align with my learning style? What do I like about their work? Is there anything I don't like-about their work, personality, etc?

If you feel good about the relationship you can have with the teacher, and you are excited about the work that they do or the things they can teach you, then you have a recipe for a mutaully beneficial, fruitful experience!

What is my learning style? Am I visual, verbal, tactile?

How do I feel when I talk to this teacher? Do I feel safe and comfortable discussing exactly what I need, what I like and don't like?

What are my goals? How can this person help me reach them?

And of course, consider your budget-not just money but time and energy. That will help you and your teacher decide what will work best and align most with your needs.
