About this pro

With a basis in world-class aikido, our school also boasts many instructors with decades of experience in multiple martial arts, who can tailor fit a training program to your needs and interests.

Serious martial arts instruction offers excellent development for both the body and the mind. We can teach you how to better handle dangerous situations, but, thankfully such situations are pretty rare for most people. So, more importantly: our training approaches will enrich your life every day by giving you a new, more confident, poised, and relaxed relationship to the world. We couldn't be happier for the oppurtunity to deliver that daily value to our students.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We first discuss your needs and goals. Then we can examine, together, the fit between your interests and our offerings. After a trial class, if you wish to continue, we can set up a long-term plan for your training, with trackable goals we'll assess on a monthly basis.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have more than 30 years' experience in martial arts, more than 20 of those as a teacher of multiple styles.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with students of all ages, which in the past has included kids as young as 4 and adults as old as 88!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

When exploring the idea of training with a teacher, make sure the teacher is interested in your development at least as much as the system of instruction being offered.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are your goals for pursuing training?
What's your realistic physical capacity?
What will you actually enjoy doing?
