Since our opening in 1996, Miramar Martial Arts Academy has been providing high quality instruction to the local community in the classical Korean Martial Art of Soo Bahk Do (Tang Soo Do) and also offering Fitness Kickboxing. The motto of the studio is “Strive for Personal Excellence.” Our programs are open to students of all ages, from 4-5 year old “Tiger Tots” through adults. Help yourself or your child develop the leadership skills of perseverance, strength, and mental stamina. We have something for everyone.
Here at the Academy, our main objective is to integrate the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects into our training. Our Academy can help you achieve many goals, including:

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first would have an evaluation and then have a couple of personal lessons before allowing the student to attend regular classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a 6th Degree Master Instructor in the Korean art of Soo Bahk Do/Tang Soo Do.
I am also a certified Master Instructor with the Korean Soo Bahk Do Association.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No, pricing is depend on the student needs. I will sit down and discuss all options with the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching back in 1994 as an assistance with my Instructor. From then I received my teaching cetificate in 1996.
And then from there I opened my Studio in 1996.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have work with all types of students. From ages 4 to over 60 years of age. Men and women too.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Having my 20th Anniversary of business is something that I am very proud of. It means that I am doing something right! Taking care of my students!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advice a new student to visit the Studio and observe a class. Talk to the instrutor and ask questions.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would suggest the student to save the money right away and not buy any equipment. Learn the art and truly see if this is something they want for long term, then I would suggest equipment for them.
