I have watched this studio grow and mature in the art and its leadership and quality of its members is outstanding... Very good with kids and probably has the best record for retaining its members. Highly recommend...

I started training in October 2012 with SBN Thai.. Im not sure the path or journey my decision to start martial training at age 46.. my daughter started training in march 2012 with her cousins and friends, I like most parents didnt really take an interest until I watch my daughters first test and I reconnected with with long time friend SBN Maderazo.. I volunteered to cook at annual Kick a Thon.. I decided to join to Miramar Martial Arts Academy to share quality time with my daughter after watching the efforts SBN Thai and his assistant instructors give to the children.. The term No Child is left behind is truly embraced within the studio instructors.. The assistant instructors are volunteers, they dedicate their free time to help the children and adults reach their own personal goals within themselves.. The fellowship amongst the adult practitioners is more of extended family.. Throughout my time with SBN Thai I was given the opportunity to meet fellow practitioners from around the world, something you cannot comprehend unless you are in a position to travel.. To truly see the comradeship amongst the senior practitioners is Saturday classes.. the studio opens at 7 am for the Dan (Blackbelt) candidates, 8-9:30 am its the senior practitioners, 9:45 to 12 pm its all ranks class schedule.. I made life long friendships with fellow practitioners, extended my physical abilities beyond my personal expectations, and I am truly grateful to SBN Thai for his dedication to his students to help them reach their own personal goals..

I have nearly 20 years experience as a Soo Bahk Do karate practitioner and student under the tutelage of Master Thomas Thai. He has produced a school that is supportive of his students while providing a true sense of community for those involved. Clearly, one of the finest martial arts studio in Southern California.

I have been a student of Master Thai for 20 years. He is a naturally gifted teacher who easily shares his knowledge in an accessible and readily understandable manner. His high level of enthusiasm translates into highly motivated students. I look forward to each and every class; knowing it will be an outstanding experience.

Frequently asked questions

I first would have an evaluation and then have a couple of personal lessons before allowing the student to attend regular classes.

I am currently a 6th Degree Master Instructor in the Korean art of Soo Bahk Do/Tang Soo Do.

I am also a certified Master Instructor with the Korean Soo Bahk Do Association.

No, pricing is depend on the student needs. I will sit down and discuss all options with the student.

I started teaching back in 1994 as an assistance with my Instructor. From then I received my teaching cetificate in 1996.

And then from there I opened my Studio in 1996.

I have work with all types of students. From ages 4 to over 60 years of age. Men and women too.

Having my 20th Anniversary of business is something that I am very proud of. It means that I am doing something right! Taking care of my students!

I would advice a new student to visit the Studio and observe a class. Talk to the instrutor and ask questions.

I would suggest the student to save the money right away and not buy any equipment. Learn the art and truly see if this is something they want for long term, then I would suggest equipment for them.
