I started practicing in 2009, in an Ashtanga studio near my office in Montreal. I found the intensity and focus of the practice to be calming, like a mini-vacation from work. With time, yoga and meditation had a profound impact, both personally and professionally and it made me a better person and a better Executive. I continue to seek new ways to use the practice off the mat into work and beyond.
In addition to Ashtanga, I practiced various styles over the years such as Jivamukti, Acro, Vinyasa, hot fusion, and Iyengar. Always eager to learn, I seek to learn and I am influenced by many teachers, namely Wendy Klein, Giselle Mari, Sri Dharma Mittra, Sharon Gannon, Yogeswari, Rosie Acosta, and Birgit Reimer. I am a Yoga Alliance certified 200h teacher.
My meditation practice is heavily influenced by my asana practice. It starts by arriving in the room, grounding ourselves. We proceed with a short breathing exercise. I share a short story or text around the weekly theme as we go deeper into our inward exploration. We proceed with the silent meditation. We close the practice with a brief discussion.
I find that most people struggle to transfer their practice off the mat and into the real world. We feel great during and after the practice, but we quickly revert back to old habits. I aim to help students grow their practice on and off the mat. In one way, the asana practice is a reflection of our life. We can adopt new habits on the mat and slowly apply them to our modern life. I find profound satisfaction when I see someone grow and become even just 10% happier.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we start on the mat, we will have a phone conversation about your goals, your practice, and how we can work together.
Change usually comes gradually so we can discuss how we will work together over a certain period of time. It is very important to me that my students feel comfortable and can get in a trusting space.
We will discuss your goals and talk about a practice plan that fits your life and moves you towards your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Yoga Alliance certified 200h teacher. I studied under great teachers in diverse styles. I continue my education through workshops and retreats with very senior teachers. I also read books and seek online conferences to deepen my knowledge.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is variable, based on distance, time of sessions and number of students. During our first conversation, we will discuss the price. I want to avoid any surprises and strive to be clear in everything I do.
How did you get started teaching?
A few years ago, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. The practice had such a positive impact on my life that I wanted to share its benefits with everyone. An injury prevented me to proceed at the time.
Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise. Injury can be a great teacher. It also allowed me to study the history, philosophy, and theory of the practice. It made me a well-rounded teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
From beginners to advanced. I will adapt to the whole person, body, mind & spirit. I dealt with different injury types and will adapt the practice plan according to the body of the student.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fortunate to have a wonderful family near me, supporting me. I love watching my two boys grow and become their own person, chasing their own dreams.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask questions, get to know the person, make sure you will eventually be comfortable. As with all new relationships, the first session or two might be a little awkward. Give it time and have a pre-determined point to decide if you want to keep going or stop. If the teacher reacts negatively when you ask questions or ponder stopping, run away! They are not truly seeking to help you.
