About this pro

My name is Jasmine. Yoga has been part of my daily life since 2014. I approach both my personal practice and my teaching with a humble curiosity of thoughtful consideration. Through yoga, I have found a sense of home in my own body and mind. In my teaching, I attempted to make space for all to feel safe and empowered. Influenced by a variety of yoga sequences and forms, I teach with the emphasis on alignment, strength, and breath. I believe every day and every practice is an opportunity to develop a finer balance between effort and ease.

You can reach me at [email protected] to talk further about planning your yoga lesson with a planned budget.

Yoga brings benefits beyond the mat.

Jasmine Yap

Every class that I teach is different. To me, it’s important to keep my classes fresh and give everyone a different experience. I’m also dealing with different demographics. I like meeting different people, being able to have a positive effect on peoples’ lives.

I am a male in my 70s who is a yoga novice. I wanted to try yoga as a means of increasing my flexibility and relieving some of my joint pain. Jasmine has been great to work with. She has gently guided me into yoga and worked with me in a personalized fashion, for which I am very grateful. Although I started with Jasmine just recently, I anticipate doing many sessions with her.

Jasmine’s class is great. She is very nice and friendly. I love going to her yoga class after a long day. She has a unique way of teaching. It is one of the best yoga classes in the bay area.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I listen to my students.

People come to yoga class for many different reasons. For most, it may be a physical practice. Others may be trying to improve a medical condition like back pain. Emotional or spiritual healing is another reason.

No matter the reason my students are here, I connect with my students whether it’s as simple as eye contact and a smile, and listen to them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
