Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
First timers can take advantage of our Introductory Month package. That's $49 (plus tax) for 30 days of unlimited practice at both locations and your mat rental is included. Towels are free the first day, after the first day towels are $2 to rent or you're welcome to bring your own. You're also welcome to just do a single class for $20 (plus tax) but once you do a single class you cannot take advantage of the Intro for another year. So if you've bought a single class online and would like to do the Intro let the True Team member know at sign in and we can convert you to the Introductory Month.
How did you get started teaching?
I walked out of my first Bikram Yoga class and felt like I was breathing through my toes. I had never experienced that in any other yoga class. I knew within months that I could teach it and 2 years later fulfilled that dream and have been happily teaching full time since 2004.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students of all ages, sizes and physical abilities. We have had students from 3 years old to 83 years old. It is never too late, you're never too old, you're never too sick to start from scratch again and change your life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are in the midst of one of our 3 30 Day Challenges held each year. The boards at both locations are full of students challenging themselves to either 30 classes in 30 days (that's what gets you the T-shirt) or to whatever challenges them...increasing their practice a day a week more, making it to a few 6am classes, practicing on the weekends. The energy in the studio during a 30 Day Challenge is electric and lots of fun!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Reach out via email ([email protected]) and let me know what you're looking for. We are happy to help you in any way we can. We have private instruction available but practicing a month with the classes is preferred before you have a private lesson to maximize what you get from private instruction.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Let the teacher know if you have any injuries, issues or recent trauma. The class is meant to be approached at your own pace. Do what you can, sit down if you feel light headed, dizzy or overwhelmed and join back in when you feel ready.
