I have been an Occupational Therapist since 1988, specializing in Geriatrics, and a Yoga Teacher since 2014.
I am passionate about helping people find ways to learn and connect to their bodies, understand injuries/ways to modify approach to yoga or other activities, relieve pain, realize and adjust habitual movement patterns, and find more freedom and strength to enjoy life!
I also co-own Yoga Dimensions studio in Newtown, CT. Private lessons can be individual or in a small group at our studio, your home/backyard, or some other agreed upon location.
I carry Professional Yoga Liability Insurance, RYT-500 certification through Yoga Alliance, as well as current State of CT Professional OT License.

I love helping people feel better! In my many years of experience in a variety of settings, I strongly believe that knowledge is power, and movement is medicine to relieve so many ailments. Working individually with people is so useful to offer opportunities to personalize interventions, answer questions and share what I've learned from my own teachers, other patients and their collective experiences.
Regina combines a very unique knowledge and experience of a yoga trainer and occupational therapist as well as boundless energy and creativity to reach her clients needs. She made me a believer that I can better my technique and greatly benefit from yoga. I have passed on her expertise to my friends in the form of gift certificates of private sessions with her as gifts. These have been much appreciated.
I love yoga and have been practicing on and off for 20 years. The interruptions were caused by various injuries and upon returning to yoga, I found it difficult to resume my normal routine. I took a yoga class with Regina and found her approach to be just what I needed. Regina's background as a licensed occupational therapist and her training in yoga combine to help the student maximize yoga's benefits. I began private classes with Regina to build my confidence and help me avoid further damage to injured areas--because getting into a pose and getting safely out of it is just as important as being properly aligned in the pose, My weekly private lessons have taught me so much about my body; how to find freedom and space in areas that are tight (those traps!) and techniques for building strength in the core and lower leg which are my challenge areas. Regina is also a great cheerleader! She accentuates the positive and gently motivates you to explore what you think you can't do. I am a senior and hope to be doing yoga for the rest of my life. Regina has helped me see that possibility.
Regina combined her knowledge of yoga and occupational therapy to identify the right exercises for the injured muscles. After 6 months of acupuncture and 6 mos of chiropractic treatment, Regina's yoga therapy was the only effective treatment! I highly recommend her to anyone suffering with chronic inflammation.
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other. I listen to the student's history, learn about illnesses, injuries, current lifestyle challenges or other concerns, to better understand the starting point, and what they hope to gain from yoga. The conversation progresses to asking and answering questions of each other to set goals for our sessions, deciding on areas to foucs on. This can be especially helpful for someone who knows they have pain for example, but unsure what to do or how to start. The first session also includes intro to yoga as needed, and/or working through specific postures to address goals. I am happy to offer a few ideas on what to do on your own if interested. Ideally, we meet again within 1-2 weeks to assess and progress the plan.
