About
I think of my Yoga class as a graceful, yet challenging form of yoga appropriate for students of all levels, meeting each student where they are and according to their condition. As students move through a series of positions (asanas), focused on their breath and alignment, there is a concentration on the seven main energy centers (chakras) of the body. Students are encouraged to experience the practice as a meditation.
I enjoy the potential of everyone to connect to their inner self to heal, stretch and strengthen, for clarity and health.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I meet students where they are. I assess their level and start from the beginning if necessary, bringing us to notice our breath and introduce basic techniques that can be used through out the lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My BA is in Dance Performance and Choreography form Bennington College. I started as a dancer, studying from a very young age. I started practicing Yoga as a warm up when dancing professionally in a very athletic and acrobactic dance company called STREB. I am certified by Sri Dharma Mittra who has a studio in NYC.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught Yoga first for professional dancers before moving into a gymnastics class. I also taught children and students when touring with the dance company. I started teaching adults in Stony Point, NY and continued to teach adults in Chestertown Maryland, before moving to Washington, DC.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher you are comfortable with, who expands your knowledge and allows you to grow.
