About
Welcome!
My journey to yoga didn't take a traditional path. For many, yoga starts with physical exercises and asana practice and then, if they feel called, some move onto yoga philosophy and spirituality. For me, it was the other way around.
I first started with selfless service performing karma yoga at community centers, shelters, and ashrams. Through my friends in the Krishna Consciousness community, I was introduced to Bhakti yoga (yoga of love and devotion) and Jnana yoga (a path of wisdom and Knowledge). I followed my heart and made changes in my diet and lifestyle, studied spiritual texts and performed seva (selfless service). By cleansing my body and mind, I was able to understand better and dive deeper into yoga philosophy. Naturally, I was drawn to visit India, the birthplace of yoga. I explored the North (Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur) and lived at a local ashram, Amritapuri in the South.
This year I finished my first 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training at Be Here Now Yoga DC and am now excited to share my knowledge of yoga and my practice with others.
I look forward to practicing yoga both on and off the mat together! Cheers!
I've got passion for making yoga and meditation accessible to everyone. My instruction educates and inspires each student toward exploring the body, mind and soul on their spiritual journey. Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Practicing yoga in the park by a waterfall is a real treat in the summer. Starting out later in the afternoon, enjoying the last bright minutes of the day, and then admiring the glowing colorful lights on the trees is truly magical. We going within, we move and breathe as one. Beautiful collective connection, collective conciousness!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'd suggest to send a teacher an e-mail to schedule a phone/video call and to get a feel of their personality. Aside from the teacher's experience, it's important to find a professional that you would really enjoy practicing with during private or group classes.
