At first, I was hesitant about attending Sifu Moys Wing Chun seminar. My initial impression of Wing Chun wasn’t the best—I assumed it was all about blocking with little power behind the moves. But after watching Sifu Moy demonstrate, something clicked. I realized that the techniques he taught could be seamlessly integrated into my existing martial arts practice, taking it to a level I never imagined possible.
Sifu Moy is an incredible instructor. He breaks down techniques without making you feel criticized or discouraged. If youre familiar with another martial art, he explains how Wing Chun approaches the same situations, highlighting both the benefits and limitations.
One of his key teachings is the concept of the tree—limbs represent principles, and branches represent techniques. In his class, you learn the limbs (the principles), which allows you to create the branches (techniques) on the spot.
I’m truly grateful for what I’ve learned from him, and I know there’s more to come. If youre serious about growing in martial arts, I highly recommend checking him out.

My Wing Chun instructor, Sifu Moy, is an exceptional teacher because of his deep understanding of the arts foundations and his ability to convey that knowledge to students. He ensures that we start by mastering the fundamentals, emphasizing how the basic moves are like the limbs of a tree, providing stability and strength. From there, we learn to develop techniques that act as the branches, expanding our skills and allowing us to move fluidly. His structured approach builds a strong base, which is essential for progress in any martial art.
What sets Sifu Moy apart is his patience and attention to detail. He doesn’t just teach techniques but takes the time to explain the philosophy and principles behind them, ensuring we grasp the why behind each move. When mistakes are made, he doesn’t criticize or make us feel discouraged. Instead, he uses those moments as teaching opportunities, helping us strengthen our understanding. This supportive environment allows students to grow confidently, without fear of judgment, which is invaluable for skill development.
In addition to his expertise in Wing Chun, Sifu Moy helps us see how it enhances our abilities in other martial arts. He shows us that Wing Chun isnt just a standalone discipline but a way to improve our overall martial arts practice. His dedication to his students and his passion for teaching make him an outstanding instructor, and anyone looking to train in Wing Chun would be lucky to have him as a teacher.

Sifu Moy is a great instructor! He is very detailed and explains that well for all levels. He goes over the purpose of each move and makes sure to move at a pace you can understand. I highly recommend his school for anyone interesting in learning Wing Chun!

There’s not much more I could say that other students have said, Sifu Moy is all they described.
Kind, informative, knowledgeable, intelligent, funny and especially patience . I played a lot of sports in my youth and was taught to be aggressive and use strength and it’s the opposite with Wing Chun and Sifu Moy keeps reminding me with patience & encouragement.

Sifu Moy is an excellent teacher! Sifu explains the concepts of Wing Chun and the reason behind each movement. I started training with Sifu two weeks ago, and Sifu Moy allows questions to all his students. I recommend Sifu Moy to new or advance students who want to learn Wing Chun.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Get the history of previous martial arts history. Then explain the differences in the arts
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 30 years in Wing Chun and taught for over 20 years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$25 per class at one hour session or $165 monthly for all classes offered.
How did you get started teaching?
After ten years of learning Wing Chun Kung Fu, I started teaching for another instructor to help out his school for about fifteen years. Afterwards, I decided to open my own school.
What types of students have you worked with?
Because Wing Chun Kung Fu is founded by a woman, there is no strength involved. Hence, it is an excellent art for children, adults and the seniors. I deal with all of them.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When I give presentations, it is amazing how quickly the students learned from these lessons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who knows the secret of the art and willing to teach and not withold it. Most schools do not reveal the secret of the Art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Instead, they spend the time showing how good they are instead of teaching how good you can become.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Student should see if the school is a learning class or a "Kick Ass" class where you get beat up by the instructors or higher students to show how good they are. My goal for my students is to make them become as good as they can be.
