About

I am a high ranked master in both Karate and Jujitsu. My classes offer the best of many martial arts including Karate, Jujitsu, aikido, boxing and weapons training. I teach traditional martial arts but gear them to modern day self defense. Specific attention is paid to each students, we give them the personal attention that is needed to meet their goals. Classes are small in number therfor alowing me to meet each students personal needs. I have flexable hours and offer group, private and semi private classes.

I enjoy helping people find that place where they feel special and empowered; where they progresively feel better about themselves and see progress each and every week.

At 69-years-old having reenter martial arts training, I am elated to once again train with Master Joe Ingicco. He is an accomplished practitioner with exceptional knowledge and skills. He understands each students strengths and weaknesses and adjusts accordingly. Kudos to Master Joe and Sunrise Dojo.

I have been training at this dojo for over 5 years. I like the instructor’s passion and knowledge of martial arts and how he incorporates his system into applicable real-life scenarios. The instructor’s reassuring teaching style makes the lessons both fun and rewarding.

Small classes and personalized attention. Joes tactical martial arts system incorporates the best of karate, Japanese jujitsu, Aikido and Arnis. His knowledge and expertise is extensive. I highly recommend his system.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to find out exactly what my student are looking to get out of training then I create a program which will effectivly help them reach their goals. the program will be molded around each students strong and week points. First class they will learn some basic moves, eye hand cordination drills and be shown  some of the diferences in the the various arts that we teach.

I am a 7th degree black belt in Karate and a 7th degree black belt in Atemi Ryu Jujitsu. I've trained trained with many world class Grand Masters. I also worked in NYC and Florida night clubs for 10 years, I know what techniques work and what is best in different situations. This experience also gave me an advantage in situational awareness which i cover in my classes.

I have reasonable rates for group lessons, private classes and semi private classes. I am not a commercial dojo who is looking for a large number of students and has to make a quota. I am more interested in finding student who truly want to learn Martial Arts then make the progam work for them.

My teachers encouraged me to start sharing knowledege with new students when I was a brown belt. By the time I was a black belt I had a firm understanding of the priciples of teaching, compassion and respect for everyone who walked on the matts.

I teach young adults to seniors from all walks of life including students who are going off to college and want to feel safer in there new environment. I have worked with members of police force, military and special forces as well as people recovering from illnesses and injuries. I design a students training to work around injuries and any weakness and focus on strong points.

I would recommend looking for a teacher who's has a good reputation.  Someone who has a lot of experience and has been training and teaching for at least ten years. I would also recommend watching a class or taking an introductory class and talking to the students. Ask them what they think of their teacher and what they think of the training.

Be realistic of your goals and what you want to accomplish then talk to the instructor and see if he is able to help you with your particular goals and not just put you into a class that is not fitted for you.
