Sana Vita Studio, 1357 W. Grand Ave in Chicago, has the unique ability to develop an Optimal & Efficient Strategy before strengthening. Don't confuse sensation (how hard an exercise feels) with effectiveness. The best athletes are not the strongest but are the ones who have the most optimal and efficient movement patterns. We will help you create your most optimal and efficient posture, breathing, and core stabilization strategy and this will improve your overall health. The science is clear: our body's movement can change our inner state. Beyond just a strong and defined body, intelligent movement gives us a medium with which to create a better version of ourselves. However, if we don't have a strategic process, a practice for moving from where we are to where we want to be, improvement remains only an idea. Practice moves us from idea to reality. We have many exciting and healthy exercise trends to teach you and you can look forward to an exercise experience which will be educational, challenging, and oh-so rewarding.

We very much enjoy helping you understand your own body more. We encourage you to find a new relationship with your own body through the exploration of the fundamentals of posture and movement. The ability to perform Pilates, Yoga or other exercises should not be the end in itself. Rather, they are a means for us to achieve an ability to live and move freely, without pain by developing more optimal habits. When you attend classes or private sessions regularly, you will begin to see a transformation within six weeks of beginning if you are consistently challenging yourself to do more. When leaving our studio you should have a smile on your face and a skip in your step. You will also see a natural and satisfying progression, and, as Joseph Pilates said: “You are only as old as your spine is young.”

    I have had Pilates classes with most if not all of the instructors at Sana Vita and have found all of them to be thorough, articulate, motivating, and highly knowledgeable. I learned something with each class and came away just sore enough to know Id done something good for my body. Love this place.

    Proper form is essential for success when training for general fitness to sports events and/or competitions. When the body recognizes instability it will create more restrictions and tightness to guard against a movement. Therefore, it is the quality of training which influences your progress, more than the quantity.  Additionally, an idea practiced repeatedly and regularly actually changes the structure of your brain making the concept easier to either continue or perform. In addition, we will introduce modifications to exercises as needed and offer suggestions to assure safe, effective and constant progression. We are always analyzing body movement and reworking components to make it function properly. We want to help you succeed by making sure we set you up with proper alignment.

    Masters Degree in Exercise Science and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Pilates, Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling Certifications.
