I am a certified Hatha and Vinyasa yoga instructor, Pilates instructor, and a NESTA certified personal trainer. I have 15 years of experience in the fitness arena in the Chicagoland area and have worked at various locations such as Bally Total Fitness, Sun and Moon Yoga, LA Fitness, Rosemont Health and Fitness and Triton College, as well as local park districts. I consistently educate myself through specialty workshops and seminars. I also have a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics which allows me to instruct clients on meal plans and food choices that improve their chances of success. I have worked with diverse individuals of all ages and common fitness levels. I especially enjoy working with the senior population and offer chair yoga classes for them in Schiller Park and Northlake.
When working with personal training clients, I am able, through simple conversation, to discern the core motivation they have at the root of their fitness needs.. I use this information to help them keep on track as they progress toward their fitness goals. As mentioned, I have worked with all ages of clients, including children, and do coach a recreational gymbastics program at the local park district near my home.
I genuinely love to see people change their lives for the better on the physical, mental and emotional levels by making the dietary and fitness changes I offer. I have helped people achieve short and long term fitness goals such as: avoiding knee surgery; loosing weight post-natally and for weddings; and controlling the effects of diabetes. And, if necessary, I also suggest professional medical help when their condition requires more than personal training, yoga, pilates or dietary changes to holistcally remedy their particular condition.

When interviewing a new client, I look for their level of commitment to the fitness goals they hope to achieve. I could be the best instructor out there, but if the client isn't willing to do what it takes, my work with them will be wasted: my time and their money. So I look for enthusiastic individuals that are ready to follow my suggestions for diet and exercise routines, that I customize to their needs. I begin with a typical health questionnaire and basic fitness test to get a base line of information to work with. Once I know the foundational information, I start with reasonable dietary changes and exercises that they can do a few times a week. I progress the client to more challenging exercises and routines as I see improvement in their strength, flexibility and stamina.
