We are Annapolis' MD only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy that is registered with the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. If your looking for accredited, professional and competent instructions and facilities we are it. There is no other. All the other academies are affiliated and pay someone to use their name to attract customers.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We provide personal one on one first lesson introduction for memebers who have no experience. We provide all necessary equipment or uniform for student to participate in our introductory class. The hardest thing to do in regard to practicing Jiu Jitsu is walking thru the front door.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructors are IBJJF registered and certified. In addition to this acedemic requirment all are either current and former Brazilian National Champions or World Champions.

How did you get started teaching?
Experience was gained through experience in US military providing executive protection to high level dignataries. Part of my responsibity was to teach other agents control tactics and self defense techniques.
What types of students have you worked with?
Adult and kids. Ages from 6 years old to Senior Citizens. We have experience teaching students with ADHD, handicaped students , students with with special needs and persons with PTSD.

Abu Daubi Combat Club (ADCC) World Championship, and International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championships (IBJJF).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Verify their background and experiences, ensure the training and facility is clean and safe, determine the students are open and welcoming and the cost of the programs are reasonable.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are they truley committed to learning a martial art; do they have the time to invest; are they willing to accept and learn from failure.
