Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Your first lesson will focus on yoga etiquette, proper alignment, yoga lingo/vocabulary and basic stretching/poses. Subsequent visits will explore the poses in detail, adding on as needed per student capability.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our instructors are certified.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private sessions are $65 per hour, or 4 sessions for $230
How did you get started teaching?
All of our instructors love yoga so much that they wanted to share their passion with others.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 3+, Prenatal/Postnatal, Mommy and Me, Chair, Gentle, Active, and including physical challenges.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are hosting our first Kids Yoga Camp this summer and the interest so far has been outstanding. We are also proud of our Sound Healing Meditation series, which occurs the last Wednesday of each month and our Restorative Yoga classes held the 2nd Wednesday of the month.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Yoga should be fun, stress-less, and spiritually and physically uplifting. Every body is different every single day. There is no competition, no judgment and no expectations, so be sure that your instructor caters to YOU...not him/herself.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask them to describe their typical class/lesson. If they are speaking with words you don't understand, move on. If you feel as though you are 'connecting', give them a try. As with any professional whom you are paying for a service, if you are not satisfied with what you experience, trust your instincts. If you are pleased, let them know. And be sure to tell them what you are looking for and expecting. Communication is key to the yoga instructor/student relationship.
