About this pro

After a stressful and exhausting work day, I entered a yoga studio in Washington DC for my first time in September 2007.  The next day I went back, and again the next day...and again...and again...okay you catch my drift!

One class at a time, one day at a time, yoga became a part of my everyday life and completely changed me both mentally and physically!  I have learned to deal with life and changes in a much more open way, and of course have also become much more flexible over the years.

In 2015 after much inward reflection and the realization that I want to pass this passion on to others, I pursued a 200-hour teacher training, yoga retreats, alignment classes, assisting classes, and many more continuing education classes in the interim.  I currently work with clients on a one-on-one basis, couples, or a private group, and in a yoga studio enviroment.

Please feel free to contact me with any quesitons, and I look forward to working with you!

I love teaching people the power of yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️ & what it can do for them!  There’s nothing like making that connection between mind & body & bringing constant awareness into your life, not to mention build strength & tone your muscles!

May is an excellent yoga instructor! She is very patient with her students and teaches at a comfortable pace for the entire class. You can definitely tell she is very passionate about yoga through her level of energy and positive vibes. I highly recommend others to attend her classes.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to start off with a basic discussion with my clients.  Tell me your goals and limitations.  Once I have a basic understanding, I will start to work through each pose, watching and learning so that I can help with alignment until your yoga practice grows.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

-  Over 10 years as a yoga practitioner

- 200 hour teacher training

- The art of assisting 30 hour training

- 3+ years of teaching, assisting, & personal sessions

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Prices vary depending on the number of people, travel time, and lesson time.  In general for a 60-minute session:

1 person - $55-70

2-4 people - $75-90

4+ people (parties & events as well) - $100-150

*  First meeting includes FREE 20 minute consultation.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching by practicing.  Only after I understood yoga in a deep way, did I feel ready to give back!  I worked with my friends at home, met groups at parks, did private lessons, and taught at a yoga studio.  I still do all of these to become a better teacher and give back to the community.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of students, from young beginners, to badly injured clients that required special attention.  I cater to anyone as I feel you have to start somewhere!  IF not now, then when?

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Know what you are looking for and make sure you communicate that to your teacher, as well as any limitations you may have.  Ask questions and make sure you are comfortable with the person you hire :)

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

- what do you know about yoga?

- what do you think yoga is and what do you expect to get out of practicing?

- how many times do you wish to meet and for how long?

- what is the reason you want to do this?
