Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
There are 1-2 sessions used as a get to know you. I examine your current routines and lifestyle habits. Assess your flexibility and overall health and wellness. Then we set some goals for our time together, what you would like to accomplish and how long you would like to work together. Typically I start with a two month introductory series as a minimum and after the first two months we can reasses if we would like to continue.
After our initial sessions I create an individualized for your growth based on your goals. A typical session includes 10 minutes of stretching, 45 minutes of yoga flow and strength training, 10 minutes guided meditation and a 15 minutes wellness/progress update.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a 200 hour registered yoga teacher. I studied meditation and yoga in Rishikesh, India. I have been practicing holistic health for 5 years, studying meditation extensively for 2 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Based on what you would like to accomplish it may vary. But for an average 90 minutes session it is $55.
How did you get started teaching?
I started with a mentor of my own to work through my own self healing and grew from there. I’ve always taught yoga but wanted to expand my business to include more full spectrum health.
What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve worked with all types of students. Beginner yoga students, people in early adulthood looking to heal their traumas and mainly middle aged women looking for meaning in their life. People come to me who are looking for a more healthy lifestyle but mainly it’s people who want to feel better.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently traveled to India and tore my ACL through the fault of another yoga teacher. While most people wouldn’t be “fond” of this experience I loved it (not at first of course). I see everything as a lesson and an opportunity to grow and having to sit through half of the training without being able to physically practice brought me so much deeper into what I was learning. Everything happens for a reason, are you ready to figure out why?
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get clear about what you want! A teacher can only do so much, you have to be motivated yourself!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals (health, relationship, vocation, time/money freedom)
What are my core values
How often do i want to practice
