About

Hi, I’m Tiffany, a highly experienced private yoga teacher. I am new to Lessons.com but you can read the positive reviews of my teaching on my website, Google My Business, Facebook and Thumbtack.

Yoga for you. This is yoga customized for your needs. Private yoga is different from a group class in the studio or the gym. Think of me as your own personal trainer or coach for yoga.

You tell me your goals and your health history. I design classes to help you reach your goals. Want to feel less stiffness, pain or stress? Want to strengthen your core to improve your back pain?

Maybe you are an experienced practitioner and you want to improve your vinyasa or chaturanga? Yes, I can help. I come to your home in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Research Triangle with all the yoga props, soothing music and essential oils (if you like).

I have extensive experience teaching 1:1, private yoga, having taught thousands of hours of private yoga lessons in addition to 30 years of experience with yoga.

I started Yoga in the Triangle as a way to provide excellent and professional yoga experiences outside of the yoga studio space. Established in 2018, Yoga in the Triangle has grown to become one of the region’s trusted wellness services for private and workplace yoga. As the founder and lead teacher, I have taught thousands of hours of yoga and mindfulness classes for my valued private yoga students in Raleigh, Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, Morrisville, as well as nationally through virtual classes. I’ve organized and lead nearly as many workplace wellness events for leaders and team members across numerous industries from accounting to warehousing. I firmly believe in the power of yoga and meditation to help all of us navigate a rapidly changing world. On a personal level, I have been practicing yoga since 1996 when I walked into my first yoga class at a small community center in Fresno, California. As a student of theater, I had heard about the benefits of yoga and was curious to try it. I have been practicing yoga and meditation ever since. After graduating from theater conservatory, I traveled from California to the East Coast to live and work at Ananda Ashram Yoga Society of New York in a search to deepen my understanding of the practices of yoga. There I learned the life skills of regular meditation, chanting, yoga asana (physical practice of yoga poses), intentional community and service. Years later, after transitioning into a fundraising and grant-writing role at a non-profit arts organization in California, I discovered that the ability to focus I’d learned through yoga and meditation lent itself to marathon sitting sessions at the desk; writing and preparing grants and reports. The yoga class at the end of the day was a welcome relief, but over time, sitting for long periods began to take its toll on my body and overall wellness. Incorporating yoga, movement and mindfulness into my daily life helped me improve my physical and mental health. Soon after, I found myself caretaking my profoundly ill husband, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer not long after we started a family. Over a decade later, I can credit a regular yoga practice with the resilience to manage the anxiety, fear, grief and uncertainty of being touched by cancer, losing my husband and becoming a solo mother to our young child. A Career Dedicated to Helping Others After moving to North Carolina, I made the decision to change careers and to dedicate myself to helping others navigate their own pain, discomfort, stress and life challenges through yoga and meditation. I achieved my Registered Yoga Teacher status through The University of North Carolina Health Care Wellness Centers, followed by completion of Office Yoga Teacher Training. I have since taught thousands of hours of private yoga, corporate yoga and group yoga classes. I am a designated E-RYT 500, the highest level of certification recognized by Yoga Alliance. I am trained in and regularly offer Assisted Stretching through my Certificate in Applied Stretching Theory and Practice so you can be confident my hands on assist work is safe and informed. As a lifelong learner I regularly study the practice, philosophy and history of yoga with acclaimed schools of yoga both regionally and internationally. It’s through ongoing dedication to learning, practice and teaching that I have developed an approach that meets students right where they are, so you can benefit from all that yoga has to offer.
