I think Julia is a great yoga teacher. She does varies poses from class to class and does some poses that are different from standard ones in most yoga classes. She is both energizing and calming and also makes hands on adjustments. At the end of class, she massages essential oil on your temples. Would definitely recommend her!

Julia is a wonderful compassionate yoga teacher. I’ve been practicing with her for years, and she is always warm and non-judgmental while providing knowledgeable guidance. Highly recommended!

Julia was my prenatal yoga teacher, doula and workshop leader. I love Julia’s ability to make you comfortable. She combines playfulness with extensive knowledge. She is strong (important for the doula assistance during labor) and I always felt supported. Her classes leave me feeling well rounded, confident, and inspired. I took her prenatal refresher workshop to enhance my own yoga teaching and loved the way she incorporated story telling, science, demos, and props. I always look forward to & am grateful for her work

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When working with a new student I approach it on a very individual basis. Assessing the way they move , alignment , breath and the reasons for coming to the yoga mat. For some it is a need to restore and relax and for others there are more physical reasons but I strive to integrate and build a lesson that is both invigorating and restorative

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been practicing yoga sibfe I was a child and have over 25 years of experience instructing students of all levels and body types. I am certified through Sivananda Vendanta Center since 1997  and also have a certification through Leslie Kaminoff at the breathing prospect. I have expertise and a certification in prenatal yoga through Janice Clarfeild since 2004 and mommy -baby yoga through Om baby since 2005. I am also a birth and postpartum Doula certified through DONA international and an aspiring birth educator through CEA-MNY .i Have experience teaching yoga in rehabilitation centers and nursing homes ) chair yoga ) and kids yoga.
