I have healed my scoliosis from a 30 degree curve to a 1 degree remnant over a 45 year process. I have healed myself through other somato-emotional issues, so I work from an experiential understanding of what it takes to be embodied and clear. My students benefit from the work I have done on myself- “I walk the walk” so to speak. I can help those who want to help themselves.
I prefer to give private lessons; my studio is not big enough for 'classes'. You get more value with total attention on YOU!

I think others should definitely know how wonderful you are and how much more you have to offer than most instructors or teachers. Having taken from many movement instructors, and as a previous Pilates and Gyrotonics instructor and dancer myself, I know how rare it is to have someone with so much experience and training be so present throughout every session and movement and be sincerely interested in my learning every step of the way.
Ever since I began my Alexander training with Cate, I trust my body more and am overall more relaxed and more present. I feel like a new chapter is unfolding. I'm finally able to begin unravelling the tension in my body. I just love it and am so thankful I found her. I'm in such a good place now. Compared to when I first found Cate, I feel like a totally different person. And my shoulder is healed thanks to her.
Cate was very careful to explain the technique in detail. What it was. What to expect. She is extremely gentle, and concerned about her student the entire time. I wholeheartedly recommend Cate for pain management and improved posture.
With The Listening Body®, I'm consistently seeing ground breaking shifts in my mental and physical habits. Cate helped me relax and stay present for a recent short film I was cast in. My usual habit of critical voices and physical tension was gone. I was free from moment to moment and fully connected to the work. Cate taught me the Alexander Technique "Lie Down", "Whispered Ah's", combined with Meditation, Yoga, that I use daily and make part of my acting preparation. My sessions with Cate, cultivated an awareness of my habits, developing tools to release the habits and making significant changes in my life and work as an actor.
I establish an understanding of their movement habits and address them in the lessons. Whether it's mediation or yoga I am assisting the student with, I am heightening their awareness of their right use of themselves the whole time.
I encourage them to recognize that it is a process, and to be patient with themselves.

I began in 1991 becoming a Massage Therapist and went on to become certified in Reiki, Body-mind Centering, Yoga, Pilates, Deep Memory Process, and Alexander Technique. I arrived in NYC as an actor but the healing arts claimed me!
