About
I've been studying martial arts for over 17 years. I have a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and have been an instructor for about 10 years. Currently I'm a Brown Belt in Brazilian jiujitsu and spent over 10 years training in nogi Jiu ijitsu. I compete regularly in pro BJJ super fights and tournaments. I'm also beginning my amateur mma career. I've trained in both traditional Thai Muay Thai as well as Dutch style Muay Thai, furthermore I've competed in a number of kickboxing "smokers".
I have a deep passion for sharing my knowledge with my students and seeing how this knowledge gives them confidence! It's truly inspiring to see someone on the journey towards their goals, both physical or mental.

How did you get started teaching?
I got started in Martial Arts because a family friend that I looked up to was competing in Taekwondo. At first I absolutely hated it, I have vivid memories of crying and throwing tempertantrums when my mom would drop me off. I didn't appreciate TKD until I got diagnosed with lymes disease and couldn't physically do it. After I got better and started training I immediately wanted to test for my brown belt and catch up with them. I failed miserably that testing and ever since then I have immersed myself in Martial Arts and expanding my knowledge of them. I received my black belt in 2008 and began volunteering as an assistant at Clinton Taekwondo Academy (now Impact Martial Arts).
What types of students have you worked with?
I've taught classes spanning all age groups and experience levels. I have had wonderful experiences with students with learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities.
