About
My name is Jeffery Oliver.
*I TEACH OUT OF MY HOME*. Students assume 100% of the responsibility when they come to train with me.*
I am an army veteran, martial artist (40+ years) and former licensed boxing coach with USA Boxing.
Not only do I teach people skills to defend themselves, I also address the legal aspects of self-defense. I deal with each student according to where he or she is and progress from there. I can teach boxing, karate (9th Dan), jujitsu (9th Dan), kickboxing and combatives.

First, it must be understood that he/she/they train at their own risk and assume 100% of the responsibility of training with me.
Second, I access the student's desires, goals and abilities. We proceeed from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a former licensed boxing coach with USA Boxing.
I have been in martial arts for over 40 years.

Payments are made in cash only and a receipt will be issued immediately.
As of 7/31/19, I will charge $80 per month for jujutsu, karate and kickboxing.

How did you get started teaching?
Back in 1993/94 I had a friend in college who wanted to learn martial arts, so I started teaching him a little combination of karate and kung fu.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have only worked with young men who wanted to learn some type of self-defense. I have tried to peek the interest of women to no avail.
I have not taught children.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoyed watching the resent Dallas Cowboys victory.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I have advertised that I teach boxing which I can, but do not have all of the conventional equipment to do so. While I can teach using focus mitts, I do not have a double end bag, heavy bag nor speed bag. If they are looking for full service boxing, then go to Fort Worth Boxing Club where I was a licensed boxing coach back in 2000.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students need to ask themselves what theyvreally want to accomplish in their training. Do they want skills for competition and/or self-defense?
