Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first session, I like to get to know my students, their goals and lifestyle. From here, we create a plan of care to work towards those goals over a specified amount of time. Some of the goals take more time to achieve than others, so the amount of time can vary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my B.A. in Anthropology so I have a solid understanding working with people and respecting cultural boundaries. I received my certification from Yoga Alliance in 2013 and have been teaching ever since. Currently, I am pursuing my Master's of Science in Yoga Therapy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically lessons are $85 but price can vary depending on distance to the client, where we meet, etc.
How did you get started teaching?
I was asked to teach yoga lessons by the exiting yoga teacher in college. She trusted and believed in me.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types! Men, women, older, younger. I have gotten the best feedback from women and men in their 40s-60s.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am delighted to say I have completed the first year of my Master's degree!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Explore different styles and teaching methods. Find the teacher that works best with your style.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Have an idea of where you would like to go. However, a good teacher should be able to talk you through this.
