I generally have a theme to my yoga classes like spine twisting, hip opening, back extension, etc. and build on the theme throughout the class so that the culmination poses are achievable. In pilates I have my own stye of teaching where all the work is initiated from the core, not the extremeties. I also specialize in stretching and target areas that complement the needs of each individual's body as wel as combating the ill effects of sitting. I also instill a sense of community thru my teaching, so that everyone feels welcome in my classes and it's easy to make new friends. In my personal trianing I get to focus on you alone, so I definitey tailor the workout to you. And my workouts are different each week, using variuos pieces of equipment to work different areas of the anatomy. I thrive on helping people reach their fitness goals and enjoy bringing people together to strengthen their bodies and expand their minds. I have at least 20,000 hours of teaching experience in local gyms and my Sunnyvale home studio, and have people tell me all the time that I have changed their lives for the better, or gotten rid of chronic back pain that has been plauging them for years.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First and foremost to undertand what their fitness/flexibility goals are and to get a handle on all limitations and/or injuries they are currently working with. In my teacing safety is paramount!!!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have certifications in all my disciplines and I keep them up to date by taking classes and workshops so I stay current with the industry.
