About
America Needs Yoga is a mission to bring awareness of how the fast-paced 'American' Culture negatively impacts our physical and mental health. Regular Yoga Practice can undo that damage by slowing us down and helping us change our lifestyle.
It does not matter which yoga you practice. What matters is the type of practice that brings more joy, acceptance and awareness into your life.
As your teacher, my biggest job will be to help you show up to your mat regardless of how you feel. There's no vacations from this practice once we start working together. I will help you go beyond the benefits of yoga that you see on google. I'm here to show you what you never thought was possible.

Not only is Anu at America Needs Yoga a true expert, but also such a calming presence and gentle soul. He adjusts the practice to your abilities and makes you feel totally comfortable, even if you’re new to yoga. I highly recommend him- you’ll not be dissatisfied!

Anu is a great yoga teacher. Not only he is extremely knowledgeable but he’s also passionate about it. He really likes to listen and is very patient. I had been interested in yoga for a long time and now thanks to him I have learned to love and appreciate its mental and physical benefits.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process starts with a consultation call where I ask about your goal with the practice, past experience and any health conditions.
We follow that up with an intro One-on-One session.
Moving forward, I meet you 3 times a week and give you a lesson plan for 1-2 days a week on your own. Every 12 weeks you will graduate to the next level where I teach you a new type of yoga.
I constantly challenge you as you grow in your practice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified and registered 200 hr yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing will be provided during the consultation.
How did you get started teaching?
I took my first yoga class in 2014. I fell in love with how yoga made me feel after the practice.
In 2017, I dropped out of my Master's degree and got certified as a yoga teacher.
It took me another four years to start teaching professionally as I was scared and nervous to be in front of people teaching yoga in a language I wasn't fluent in(English).
In January 2021, I moved to Chicago and officially started my career as a yoga teacher. I have taught and left corporate yoga as I wanted to pursue teaching private yoga where I can help students build a consistent practice.
What types of students have you worked with?
Men and women ages between 20 and 68
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I have started meeting strangers and teaching them yoga for 5-10 mins. It's scary. It helps me bring my message to the world.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The teacher must practice what they preach. There's no way to gain a deeper understanding of yoga.
