About

CrossFit is a proven method of fitness which gives athletes more energy, increases strength, enhances mobility, trains you to have balance as well as general physical preparedness. What does that mean? Whether you are looking to lose weight, gain strength or train for sport through the "Constantly Varied, Functional Training" methodology any of those goals can and will be obtained. We can help any athlete reach their goals as we know our program is extremely effective through regular, frequent attendance. CrossFit isn't just a fad program, it is a way of life.

Some aspects which makes CrossFit Beverly different from other programs is our coaching and community. The coaches are present to teach proper mechanics and movement and keep athletes motivated. Also a strong component of CrossFit Beverly is our community. With our group workout settings the environment encourages everyone to put in full effort and all our athletes offer tremendous support for each other. There really isn't another place like it on the South Side. The biggest cheers in a CrossFit WOD are for the athlete who finishes last, not because they are last, but because they worked so hard and everyone can appreciate their effort. Although we train as individuals we workout as a community. Everyone works extremely hard and we never, ever quit a workout. We have athletes of every ability from 64 year young retirees to former Division 1 collegiate athletes who want to retain that level of fitness. Everything we do in CrossFit can be done by anyone.

As a Beverly resident who wants to offer something better then treadmills and elipticals, along with the strong presence of LEO, first responders and military in the Beverly/ Morgan Park/Mt. Greenwood neighborhoods John knows our neighborhoods will benefit from a CrossFit affiliate. We at CrossFit Beverly believe in our athletes as well as our product. We are ready to help you break through barriers and assist you with achieving your goals. We are happy and excited to offer you the first CrossFit on the south side of Chicago.

The neighborhood(Beverly, Mt. Greenwood, Morgan Park) and surrounding suburbs needed a program which teaches functional movement under the watchful eye of a trained coach. We witness too many programs which do not teach the clients nor pay attention to their movement to assure safety, quality and efficacy.
We as trainers owe it to our First responders as well as the rest of our clients to create and and apply a program which makes them stronger, fitter and healthier for the demands of their careers or for their lives in general.

We work with high school athletes, grandparents as well as former Division 1 athletes.

The needs of our grandparents and elite athletes do not differ from kind, only degree.

We just promoted a fundraiser for Barbells For Boobs where the community pitched in and raised $1900 to help in mammogram screening.

Make sure your teacher is engaged and passionate about your training.  So many personal trainers are salesmen looking for the sale and not interested in training once they land the deal. You want a coach/teacher/trainier who is genuinely interested in your goals and results.

What do they really want out of the training?  Make sure to know what goals they have.  Set the goals as rungs in a ladder;short term, medium term and long term.  So many people have lofty goals which are difficult to obtain and when results don't follow they give in.  By incrementally setting goals (short, medium, long) which are within reach, the climb to the lofty goal is so much easier and easy to stay on track.
