FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

New students fill out a card on which they outline any physical difficulties or challenges that they are currently working with.  Teachers provide suggestions and alternative ways to work on a pose when appropriate.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a certified Intermediate Iyengar teacher

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

One hour private lessons are $75.

Group classes are $15 for 1.5 hour and $12 for 1.25 hour

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching after studying and being a student for over 6 years. I have been teaching for over 25 years

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages of students with a wide range of needs and ability. From teens with scoliosis to seniors in chairs. Each student is encouraged to work fully to their own capacity.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A long time student told me that she was able to be present in a pose without any agitation or need to move.

I strive to help my students be present in a pose on their yoga mat so that when they encounter difficulties in life they are prepared to accept and cope with the difficulties of life.

It felt like a great success.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find an experienced teacher who is able to listen to your needs and willing to work with you on your personal challenges

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Am I willing to commit to looking at the issues that present themselves in my body?

Do I want to see myself change if it is possible?

Am I willing to make adjustments so that I can evolve?
