About

Nannette Wasserman, (RYT 200)

Nannette has practiced yoga and meditation for over thirty years. As a teenager, long before yoga was popular, Nannette joined her artist mother in yoga and meditation classes. Together they studied Iyengar and much later, ISHTA yoga. Nannette received her certification in Hatha yoga through Yoga With Intention and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with nationally recognized Yoga Alliance. Her teachings focus on building flexibility and strength within the proper alignment while cultivating an open heart. Nannette consistently provides modifications as well as progressions for each asana so that all students, from beginners to advanced, are able to find their edge and breathe fully and deeply while moving through the poses.

Nannette is trained in HeartMath, a practice of mindfulness and energy management which builds personal resilience. Resilience may be thought of as "the capacity to prepare for, recover from and adapt to stress, challenge, or adversity." Nannette enthusiastically shares her HeartMath practice with her students as it is a tangible way to take their yoga off the mat and into their daily lives.

She is very knowledgeable and clearly puts a lot of thought into her classes. She is also very attentive to each person in the class and their specific needs, I cant say enough good things about her class.

Nannette is an excellent yoga instructor who customizes each class for her students needs. She has the unusual ability to communicate spot on the mechanics as well as bring us into mindful breathing and meditation. She teaches the best classes that I have ever experienced.

I have experienced many group and private yoga sessions with Nannette. The depth of her knowledge, compassion and spirituality is extensive. I have taken classes with different instructors over the years and keep coming back to Nannettes class whenever I can. It is a treat. I highly recommend taking classes or private sessions whether you are a beginner or experienced student. You will learn a lot, feel renewed and have fun in the process!

Yoga classes with Nannette are fabulous! You leave her classes feeling longer and leaner. More importantly, you feel restored and able to continue your day with light and energy. She begins class with an intention and meditation. From there subtle stretching will lead to an amazing workout that sculpts and tones your body. Nannette demonstrates and modifes poses to accommodate all levels. The class ends in Savasana;; ultimately, leadimg you to leave there like a different person than when you walked in. A better one :)

Frequently asked questions

First, I ask the student if s/he has any injuries, pain, or physical limitations that I should be aware of so that I may make modifications from the start. My number one priority is keeping the student safe from injury. Then, we discuss the student's fitness goals (increasing flexibility, improving strength and stability, calming the mind and central nervous system, improving core strength and muscle tone, learning to meditate, lowering heart rate, blood pressure, increasing lung capabity and the quality of the breath). Next, I explain the format of the private session or class and then we begin by setting an intention for the current practice.
