I always take the time to learn about my new client in the first session. I typically like to schedule a 75-90 minute first session so that we can spend 15-30 minutes just talking about our likes, dislikes, yoga, meditation, sports, and anything else that the client wants to discuss.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
200 hour Power Yoga Certification from CorePower Yoga Trauma Informed Yoga Certification from Purple Dot Yoga Project Sculpt Yoga Certification from NuPower Yoga + Barre Restorative Yoga Certification

How did you get started teaching?
I was once a new yogi too! My parents drug me to my first yoga class when I was a sophomore in college and immediately fell in love. As a former college athlete, I found yoga to be just the right amount of sweat, meditation, and grounding. I also have experienced trauma in my life - as almost everyone does at some point - and yoga has helped heal that trauma. I want to make sure all of my clients feel as empowered and confident as I do when I practice.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds! I have worked with kids as young as 9 years old, and people as old as 90 years old. I do not discriminate against people of color, LGBTIA+, disabilities, etc. Everyone is welcome in my class. Always.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you have a connection with you yoga teacher. You will not get what you need out of each session if you do not trust them. Yoga is about being vulnerable physically and mentally, and you want to feel like you are in a safe space with a safe person.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are you looking to get out of yoga and/or meditation? How can I help you reach your goal? What are you physical limitations (i.e. injuries)?
