Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student is ran through are fundamental training building the foundation. I the soke and founder am always on the mats with my students. And make an effort to personally have hands on wit h every student. The reason being is that not everybody understands or translates instruction the same way so we cater the training based on what the students strong points and weaknesses are so every student is treated like a fingerprint, using different tactics and teaching tools and applications to eventually get them all to the same mindset and skill set.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been teaching for over 15years when I started teaching under my last master he called me the translator because I had a particular ability to pass along the information to every student by Appling activities and or hobbies that they had to get them to understand and translate what was being taught. I also spend a number of years teaching for the local parks and recreation to neighborhood kids that were in danger of joining gangs to motivate them to be better and give them a sense of self worth.

How did you get started teaching?
As a young boy growing up in the gang infested neighbourhoods of Los Angeles California I had very little choice but to fight to survive my encounters, with gang members. At age 15 my cousin a Viet men vet and practitioner of American kenpo karate came to me and said that I had to learn discipline and not be an animal. So he took me to a local park and encouraged me to fight him after handing me my hineside he then began to teach me his American kenpo. That was my first incouter with martial arts and my journey began. Be cause I was not indoued with money I searched for people who knew or were themselves taking martial arts. Offering myself as a training partner or dummy.. I was able to learn from these individuals most if them were back yard martial artist. So I imbarked in the progression of my skills and my expation if knowledge I trained with whine ever i could. Muy thai, judo, ninjutstu, silat, American boxing taekwondo unroll I met my last master whine had an eclectic system with the foundation of shotokan it was there that I trained the longest and began my teaching career. Which eventually was able to re invent my selfe and fighting consept incorporating my street knowladge and unsight and created the system of irimi jutsu.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ive worked with all types of potential students. Handicapped, limited mobility and at this moment in time in going to be working with individuals that are vision impaired.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Presenting my system and versatile applications to the richmond institute of the blind. And being invited to there convention in northern va. To do a seminar for all 12 chapters.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Know what you want out if the training be it self defense competition or the long journey to becoming a martial artist. Check the teachers background and over all knowledge compare with other school before you commit. Remember just because they wear a black belt and are called master doesn't mean they really know anything. Only by gauging thebpracticality of what they reach and how effective it would be in a street fight do you KNOW if what that will teach you will be worth the time and dedication that it takes to learn it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
There goals, how serious they are about martial arts is it a life journey or a hobby, does the teacher give detail explanation or is just quick to get them tyo sigh a contract. Is the teacher in good physical does his mindset and physical status represent his ideals in what he teaches.
