About
I started learning mixed martial arts (muay thai kickboxing, brazilian jiu jitsu, boxing, wrestling) at the age of 8. During my four plus years in the childrens program, I learned I had a fighting spirit and student mentality which lead to be the youngest, lightest, smallest in the adult striking and grappling programs, but as well as the most hungry to learn, consistent in attendence, consistent growth during the eight years that followed. See more info in sections below!
In 2014 I thankfully had the opportunity to sow back into my home academy as an instructor. There I got to teach childen/teens individually and in groups from ages three to fourteen and adults. I found myself coaching tournaments every other weekend, competing in touraments every month, spending extra training time to competitors, or volunteering in the special needs class.
Over the last year, I have been giving private lessons at clients homes or in public parks and cornering them at tournaments. Both my clients and myself found it to be more flexible in hours and affordability for both sides! Lessons have been for kids and adults, some strict martial arts lessons and others martial art fitness based workouts and I love combining both! One important factor I have been able to implement into my lessons is mindset! I have focused on my own personal development through mentorship, elevating my assocation, audios, reading, reflecting, applying. All the of which the mindset I can apply to my students and clients!
I bring the mats (if needed) and mits, possibly the kimono too!
I plan to get to first build a relationship during the partnership of training, knowing your goals and needs, and letting you know what you can expect of me and what I would expect for a partnership in training.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Investing in a relationship to be friends! First getting to know about you and your background, your goals, then crafting a plan around the goals, then establishing standards and common groups so you know what you can expect from me and what I can expect of you in a trainer/trainee relationship.
I'd rather be teaching a friend and not have to manage anyone and no one wants to be managed!

How did you get started teaching?
I was watching BJJ highlight films then came across kids competition highlights and could see myself adding value by teaching kids what I learned from my mat time. I spoke it out to a friend the next day and three days later I walk into the gym and the manager says they have an opening and would like me to fill it.
What types of students have you worked with?
Adults
Teens
Kids (3-14yo), including special needs
Zoom lessons!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at the fruit on the tree and see if you can be friends with that person.
Mindset: if you're focused on the outcome it'll be worth going through the process of obtaining it, even if that process is uncomfortable.
