About

My education goes beyond the requisite 200 hour training. As a teacher, it is imperative to find what resonates with you and work from there. I have expanded on my focus of gentle Hatha Yoga to include education in Yoga for Cancer, Restorative yoga, Functional training for Aging, as well as Somatic Movement. These disciplines and areas of focus complement each other so well, it enables me to help people become more mindful, and move in a way that feels good in their body. No matter where they are in their life journey. Even the subtlest of movements can make for profound change.

I love when a client will say I have no pain! Or, how students who once struggled to find the beauty in savasana now love the stillness! Watching clients expand on their practice is a huge compliment! I also get really excited when I explain breath work to someone for the first time. Watching the lightbulb go off is a rush for me!

Commit to your self care.  You are worth it!

After 30 years as a Certified Public Accountant, I knew I needed a change.  Exercise had always been important to me, because it left me feeling good, physically and mentally.  It wasn’t until I left my job that I really began to focus on my yoga practice.  The more I learned, the more I wanted to share this amazing practice.  Fast forward to present day and I know it was the right decision for me.  I love teaching yoga!

Children, teens, adults, and seniors.  I have worked with people with PTSD, people with limited mobility due to aging, illness, or injuries. I have worked with people who have anxiety, depression, as well as those caregivers for people with anxiety and depression.  Beginners who were hesitant to try out a studio, as well as people who just want to begin or deepen their yoga practice.

Presently, my clients tend to be on the older side, and the focus is on healthy movement and mindfulness.

At the end of a session when I can sense the energy in the room has shifted.  There is a transformation that takes place with yoga in the short time we are together for even the skeptical student!

Take care to have a conversation prior to hiring an instructor, and don’t be afraid to ask questions!  You want to be sure you are hiring a qualified teacher, as well as someone who is a good fit for you.

Anything they are curious about! There are no silly questions! I love it when students ask me what they can do to continue their practice outside of our sessions.  The more you practice, the more you benefit!
