Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On our first lession, we go right into it and I assess what kind of physcial ability as well as mental attitude the student has towards learning Tae Kwon Do. I also ask what the student wishes to get out of the lessons. From there, it is easier to plan our path to future lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained in Tae Kwon Do for approximately twenty four years and am currently a third degree black belt under the World Tae Kwon Do Federation. I have also trained with past members of the US National Team and am up to date with the current training methods and strategies. As of May 2016, I opened up my own school with the help of Master Joseph Lupo, Jr., to pursue my dream of not only teaching Tae Kwon Do but improving my community by being an example to my students and peers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system is simple and unlike most in the industry. We have no contracts and no registration fees. We have three pricing plans and all include a free uniform when signing up. If the desire is for me to teach outside of my school then hourly rates do apply.
How did you get started teaching?
My good friend owns a highly successful school with approximately 420 students and he asked me if I could assist whenever I could as it was becoming hard for him to teach alone. I found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences ever. It became my calling and everyday I strive to be better for my students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach students of all ages, creeds, ethnicities and backgrounds. As long as they have the desire to train, I will do my best to help them reach their goals. I also have a lot experience with children of special needs such as children with ADHD, ADD and autism.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Conduct your due diligence and train with someone who you feel comfortable with. Find someone who is as passionate teaching Tae Kwon Do as you are learning it. It makes for a better student and better results.
