Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, I'll start with a discussion about what the client is looking for and schedule a time for an assessment. If all goes well, then we set up the training schedule from there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-Master's degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) with an emphasis in Sports Conditioning, Corrective Exercise, and Orthopedic Rehabilitation [A.T. Still University]
-Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a Minor in Psychology [A.S.U.]
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Certification (NSCA)
-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA)
-Functional Range Conditioning Certified
-Functional Movement Screen Certification Level 1 & 2
-Over 10 years of experience working as a trainer in a physical therapy setting
-Over 15 years of experience working in a gym
What types of students have you worked with?
A wide range of people! Anyone from 13 years old up to 99 years old so far! Weight loss, muscle growth, strength and conditioning, sports specific training, corrective exercise, post-rehab training, flexibility, etc.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check that they are actually certified because it's not required to have a certification to be a trainer. Also, having a degree underlying a certification can be a huge plus!
