About
Only 8000 people or so (out of billions) have trained in my Shing Yi style. It is not elite, exclusive, or anything like that. However, it is very powerful. It allows one access to their true power. My teacher's teacher said "There are no words" once you access it's power. It has to be felt , or sensed. Also it is exciting for me to focus on healing aspects of the arts or ways to restore balance and defend ourselves. I have reached a level in which I would like to share what I have learned. I rejoined martial arts 14 years ago. I am able to teach chinese kenpo, Yang Style Tai Chi , basic strikes and self defense, and Shing Yi Chuan which is internal art style similar to kung fu. I am certified instructor in Shing Yi . For more information check out https://www.facebook.com/mysticenergyart
I am passsionate about how the arts have helped me. I have seen it change others lives for the better. Another key element is that I want to pay back my teachers by inspiring others and setting themselves up to be the best they can be. I am a communicator, vessel for the knowledge that has been taught before me. The style I train in and teach (Shing Yi Chuan) is a powerful healing internal art. It was nearly squashed by the Chinese govenment in their revolution circa 1950's. It is my mission to carry that on. Also I am eager to help people achieve their goals and if necessary help them heal.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I assess each student to determine what is their goal and intention. If they want to take a trial lesson I offer one and go over one or two basic concepts. As that happens I can determine if I may be a good fit. If I am not what they are looking for I can point them in another direction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a student of the arts for slightly over 13 years and train diligently. Certified instructor of Shing Yi Chuan. Green Belt in Chinese Kenpo. I have audited Muay Thai Boxing. I love sparring. I have trained in Brazilian Jui Jitsu , however I am not qualified to teach BJJ.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Since I don't have a space that I rent, I can offer private lessons for a more affordable rate than many that are at my level of experience and have to pay rent or lease a space. (Roughly 14 years total in several disciplines) I have a standard rate but it really depends on the students goals, location. frequency of lessons , etc.
How did you get started teaching?
I reached a level understanding and experience in which I thought I would be ready to start sharing what I've learned. I would also run the warm up and workout class when I was in a formal School and help beginners out since I was intermediate and or advanced rank
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond that I started to meet people who might value my service. One seemed to get better range of motion and less pain in about three lessons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for martial arts or chi gung training on a serious level make sure the teacher has lineage. If they don't have any that is usually not a good sign. Make sure that the instructor is able to help you with your intent and your goal. For example if your goal is to compete and professionally fight.. or do tournaments I am not a good fit
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
That is for the student to decide.
Consider if the teacher can offer what you are seeking to achieve?
