NOVASTAR MARTIAL ARTS Of Mission Viejo
About
Novastar provides quality instruction along with having a family friendly atmosphere. We also want to let every student know that there is more to karate/martial arts than just punching and kicking people.
Each student is different, and with my background, I understand the reasons for doing martial arts. My goal is to help each student on "their" path to success in martial arts.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We try to understand why each students takes karate, then make sure we teach our techniques correctly but still having fun with the younger students. Each student comes to learn martial arts for different reasons, and our goal is to help each student learn and enjoy their classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a multiple time world champion balck belt in the AKA karate circuit along with the NASKA karate circuit. I have also trained and worked for several world champions. I come from an instructory that also has several students working in the entertainment industry either doing stunts, acting, and fight choreography.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing is excellent. Our "Basic" program is only $100 per month and we do not restrict on how many classes you take per week. Some of my competitors are more expensive and restrict your class times. Our schedule is very flexible too.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching after working for several reputable martial arts studios in the area, and decided to open up NOVASTAR.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, from 3 to adults. Again, each student is different and that is the fun part of adapting to each student to bring out their best.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We performed at the SANTA'S ARRIVAL CELEBRATION in Mission Viejo. It is a fun and festive event we get to showcase all of our students along with having some of my Hollywood friends come in and WOW the crowd. All our performances also include a fun CHILD SAFETY segment to try and help bring awareness to the families.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they are good with kids and have enough time to give each student the one on one attention needed to make each child feel a part of the studio.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do we want out of karate? Do we want to work on self confidence, self control, self defense, physical fitness, and/or if you have a comeptitive drive to compete or perform.
