About this pro

@KakeFitStudios in Inglewood is now open!!!

Experience

I'm an NASM certified personal trainer (fancy way of saying I'm legit,) VertiMax Bootcamp instructor, basketball coach, a strength and conditioning coach.

I became a nationally certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2011. For my first gig I trained at Gold’s Gym in Venice, “the Mecca of Bodybuilding” for two years March 2012-2014.

I also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Pierce College in 2014. I got my Bachelors in Kinesiology: Applied Fitness at Cal State University Northridge May 2015.In August 2016 I was hired as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Crossroads High School (Santa Monica). My first team, Girls Volleyball, made it all the way to the California State Championship.

In March 2014, I created #KakeFit allowing clients to receive personal training without a gym membership.

In Jan 2021, I created @KakeFitStudios a private state of the art garage fitness studio to maximize human performance for athletes and general fitness clients!

I've played basketball (collegiate and semi-pro), football and swim. As an athlete, I realized that Vertimax is an extremely effective way to jump higher and run faster. I created #VertimaxBootcamp to help athletes achieve their potential using a method I know works.

Philosophy

It takes an athlete to know an athlete. If you want to perform at the highest level possible, I can get you there. Because I've been there.

I love helping athletes achieve their fitness goals! I've helped turn over 50 HS athletes into D1 collegiate recruits in multiple sports!

As a newbie to strength training and attempting to putz around the weight room on my own, I decided some personal training was in order. Jon Kaker was very considerate of my personal fitness goals, as well as my current abilities and physical limitations, in designing and tailoring my workout to my individual needs. He was extremely patient in teaching me correct form and dedicated to preventing and avoiding injury. He is very knowledgeable and a great teacher and after a handful of training sessions, each one is still new, challenging, and effective. But don't get me wrong, all those kind and gentle qualities aside, there was a significant amount of ass kicking...and I needed it. I admit it...I may have whined and complained with a few "I can't"s thrown in there but he knew my limits better than I did. So after thinking I couldn't do any more reps or there was no way I had a chance at a heavier weight, apparently I had a few more reps in me, with another weight plate, and then another, and then one more. After the sessions, I walked out (or more like crawled out...park close to the exit...you'll thank me later) feeling strong, energized, confident, and in about 2 hours...really sore, in a good way. #TooBuff

As a former division 1 athlete, I can honestly say that going through Jon's Vertimax program is the closest thing I've felt to being back in my college program. You will be sore the next day. You will feel muscles you didn't know you had. But you will also come out the other side more explosive and a better overall athlete. The combination of the resistance training and Jon's knowledge make for a great workout. If you want to regain the explosive step you may have lost, or just to improve your quickness and speed, this is a great way to get there!

Met "Kaker" about a year+ ago playing flag football at the beach, after a few games found out he was a personal trainer so had a good discussion about working out, nutrition etc.. I have background in training various sports, martial arts and have been working out intensely for the past 10+ years, and had some very aggressive goals for my self. I ended up consulting with Kaker about these goals, he had some great incite, seemed like he knew what he was talking about and gave me some great pointers. After a while I ended up getting Kaker on board as a personal trainer for 3 months. He designed a nutritional plan, and a workout strategy, which at first seemed contradictory to what I've been doing, but I went with it anyway and got awesome results. We met a few times a week, went through the various routines, and end up having more fun throughout the workout then I normally would. Over all I ended up loosing 23 pounds of fat, got way more cut and developed awesome Ab and Biceps definition. The workouts didn't seem like a drag anymore, much more fun. This guy is very easy to get along with, and knows a tone about getting fit Fast! In my opinion if you want to lose fat, get cut or train for a sport like a pro, give him a call and you'll be well on your way.

I've worked with Jon Kaker (JK) for a while now and I am so thankful I met him... I am a former Varsity star athlete that got caught up in the business world and lost touch with my personal fitness over the years. I leveled with JK about my situation and he immediately got on board to work with me at my level, he made me feel welcomed, and helped me set realistic goals. JK has been a positive motivator from the start and he has already been more involved in my health, fitness & improvement plan than I expected. If you want to talk about going above and beyond, he does it. In my experience, he sets a new bar for personal trainers. It is clear from day one that this is more than just a hobby or a job for him, he really cares, he knows his stuff, and most importantly: he gets results. I can't recommend Jon Kaker highly enough.
