PROACTIVE FITNESS SOLUTIONS LLC
About
If you want results, you've come to the right place! Proactive Fitness Solutions is a Personal Training company based in Boca Raton, FL. We offer one on one Personal Training and Nutritional Guidance to help you achieve your Health and Fitness goals.
Growing up in Romania, I was surrounded by Sports. I was very active and I played Soccer, Tennis, Basketball and took Karate lessons. After I finished 7th grade someone suggested to go the Gym because I was to skinny for my height. I got set up with a Personal Trainer that taught me what to do and how to do it. I fell in love with Fitness because I started to see muscles that I didn't have before. Also, I loved how I felt after the workout and I still do, to this day. Soon after, my friends saw the shape I got from working out and asked me if I could train them. I said: Sure! Come to the Gym with me! Some of them, still train to this day because of me. That's how I started my Career as a Personal Trainer. It was 1995. I never stopped training ever since. When I moved to US in 2005, I was working out in the Gym, I saw Personal Trainers on the floor training Clients and I had an epiphany. I was like...This is what I used to do back in Romania. I used to train my friends. This is what I want to do for a living! I want to be a Personal Trainer! I got the necessary credentials and started working as a Personal Trainer since 2008. In 2012 I went in Business for my self and now I train Clients in the privacy of their own home or they come to the Gym that I work with. The Fitness journey never ends and I always look for ways to improve my self and the lives of my Clients.
I develop all aspects of Physical Fitness: Muscular Strength and Endurance, Cardio and Flexibility. I offer Nutritional Guidance and refer Clients that want to go into specifics to the Registered Nutritionist that I work with. I train your mind to conquer every obstacle presented in your path and help you develop a positive attitude in order to cope with life's ups and downs. Any conditions that you have that I'm not familiar with, I will refer you to someone that has more specialized knowledge.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every 2 years I have to earn 20 Continuing Education Units or Credits in order to maintain my Personal Trainer Certification valid (I earned my certification in 2008 with I.S.S.A.).
The course has to be relevant to Health and Fitness. In 2010, I earned a Certification as a Specialist in Fitness for Seniors from I.S.S.A. In 2011, I took an Exercise Science course with Dr. Anthony Abbott at the Fitness Institute International in Boca Raton, FL. I also have to renew my CPR-AED Certification before it expires.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?

What types of students have you worked with?
I worked with pretty much all types of students.
From teenagers and college students to doctors, lawyers, executives and retirees.
I helped my clients achieve various goals like weight loss, gaining muscle mass, improving balance or learning how to box.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I taught one of my students how to box after being bullied in school. He never got bullied again after that.
One of the proudest moments of my career.
Also one of my clients told me once that our training sessions are the highlight of his day.
Another one told me that our training sessions are the reason she wakes up in the morning.
These compliments along with seeing my clients progress and improve the quality of their lives are the reason why I do what I do. It gives me a sense of joy and fulfillment.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire Independent Contractors instead of joining a big box Gym, signing Gym memberships, paying extra fees when you sign up for Personal Training and train with burn out Trainers. Also, big box Gyms have high turn over for Personal Trainers because they don't pay them much. An Independent Contractor can give you the attention that you need without the hassles of joining a commercial Gym.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is Personal Training something I can afford to do?
Is Training something I'm willing to dedicate myself to week in and week out? Results are 20% Exercise, 80% Nutrition and 100% Cosistency.
