My name is Terrie Bulger and I have been a personal trainer and group instructor since 1991.  I have always had a passion for working out and my passion turned into my business.  

When working with my personal training clients, my goal is to support, encourage and help my clients achieve whatever their goal is.  I have had tremendous success with helping my clients get stronger, more toned and fit and some of my clients have achieved between 30-52 lbs of fat loss within my 12-Week Turn Your Health Around Program.  What is your goal?

In-home personal training was my first step into the profession.  Before I opened 180 Fitness in Dracut in 2005, I managed a fitness facility, taught Step Aerobics, Floor Aerobics, Body Sculpting, Cardio Kickboxing, was the only personal trainer on site and while doing all that, I earned a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.  At 180 Fitness, I work with clients one-on-one or couples/small groups and I teach Boot Camps and Spin.  I absolutely LOVE what I do, but most of all, I love to see my clients get fit, lose weight and get healthy.  The best part is watching them discover their inner athlete (we all have one) and watching their faces and pride as they drop 1-3-5 lbs a week...safely and healthfully!

180 Fitness is an impeccably clean faciltiy and the class members are warm, welcoming, fun, supportive, encouraging and all around awesome people.  We are proud of the community we have created here ... you are not just a number, I actually know everyone's name who walks in the door.

I LOVE what I do...some of the most rewarding things about my work is watching clients do something they thought they could never do...I love the excitement and the looks on their faces.

The best part is when a client achieves their weight loss goal because along with the physical change comes an internal change.  They discover their inner athlete, start to love/like themselves more, confidence grows and an inner peace seems to shine through.

    I joined 180 Fitness in March 2018 and trained with Terrie for 12 weeks. My goal was to lose weight and ton up, both of which I accomplished. Terrie is very motivating and knowledgeable in her field. At the end of the 12 weeks, I opted to sign up for the classes. I attend the Spin and Boot Camp and have met some wonderful people. The gym is very clean and equipment well kept. Highly recommend checking it out.

    In addition to attaining strength/fitness, everyone is supportive and NICE! This makes working out not seem like a 'job' but more of a fun activity. Terrie is so very knowledgeable and knows what you are physically capable of -- often modifying routines for those of us with 'issues'; e.g., bad back, arthritis areas, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When starting a new client, I first meet for a Complimentay Consult to find out what their goals and concerns are.  I also do a mini session so a client can get an idea what a training session would be like.  

The first session is a Fitness Evaluation which consists of weight, measurments, body fat composition, cardiovascular testing, strength tests and flexibility so that we can get a good picture of the current state of fitness. We also go over their eating plan so that they can be successful with their weight loss.

1-23 sessions...$80.00/session

24 sessiions.....$73.75/session

36 sessions......$72.00/session

I typically work with clients for 90 Days but other arragements can be made based on a clients needs. 

How did you get started teaching?

It's funny, I went and took a course and got certified as a Personal Trainer to learn how train myself...I wanted to make sure I had good form and that I would not injure myself...I had no intention of becoming a trainer.  One day I received a call from a woman who heard through a mutual friend that I was a trainer and she said she wanted to hire me to come to her house 3 days a week... I agreed and my Fitness Training business was born!  Had she not called, I probably would never have pursued this career. The universe had a different plan for me and I am grateful for that call. 

What types of students have you worked with?

My clients have ranged from 11 year olds to 80.  My area of expertise is weigth loss.  I have worked with clients who want to lose 10 - 100+ pounds.  Some of my clients have had knee, hip, shoulder and ankle issues..heart and spine problems as well as women who have have breast surgery due to cancer...After 27 years in the industry, I have worked with a wide variety of clients.  

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The best thing I can tell you is find someone who understands your needs and goals. You want to like and be comfortable with that person because it becomes a personal relationship.  You want someone to push you but not to the point where you are hurting for days between sessions.  

My philosophy is to start a person exactly where they are and progress them reasonably.  No ZERO to HERO nonsense.
