Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is always a consultation. This is about 30-45 minutes and it gives us a full understanding of your fitness level, any restrictions or medical issues and your goals. This helps us determine the right program for you.
It is also a way for you to meet us, see our space and determine if it's the right fit for you.
We usually start with a full fitness assesment and the next step is simply to start training. Depending on the program you choose depends on what happens next.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our trainers are fully certified and have several continuing ed credits. We are all continuing to improve our knowledge and stay up to date with the ever changing industry.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have several options available.
Private training is $75 a session
Semi-Private Training (Small Groups of 5 or less) starts at $150 a month.
We also offer a 24/7 gym membership for $35 a month.
Additionally we offer nutrition coaching, programming, whole food nutrition and several amenities.
How did you get started teaching?
It's always been my passion to help people. I was always known as a "quirk". My friends and family made fun of me for being so healthy and always learning new things about food, fitness and lifestyle.
I love teaching people what I've learned over the last 15 years and when my clients realize they can make a change. The best feeling ever is when they come to me after a few months and they can now do things they never could.
Even small milestones are huge! Getting flexibility back, healing past injuries, losing weight and getting their energy back are all examples of things my clients see.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds! Men, women, kids, teenagers, elderly. Anything from body building to weight loss. But my favorite clients to work with are women who want to lose weight and men and women who hurt all the time.
There's nothing better than giving someone back their quality of life!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure whoever you hire is certified and if they have some level of related education that's a bonus. There are a lot of people claiming to be fitness trainers but are just body builders who love it so much they want to live in the gym. These are not good insructors if they do not understand pain points and proper technique, as well as dangerous exercises for certain people to do.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is it that you really want to accomplish?
Think about your goals and pinpoint what's most important.
