How did you get started teaching?
I ran my first full marathon when I turned 40 years old. Inspired by my coaches and fellow new runners I started my personal fitness business to help others reach their goals and achieve their health and fitness dreams. I have currently completed 39 full marathons and have no plans on stopping.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with every fitness level, from beginner to elite athlete, from ages 10-85.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm fond of any time I get to spend with my clients, runners and friends. My favorite athletic event is the Boston Marathon. I have completed 5 Bostons and am currently training for my 6th.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You are never too old and it's never too late to start. You get better as you get older!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your "WHY"? Your why just isn't just your purpose or calling. It is what is driving you to achieve your dreams and goals. For example, "I am training to lose weight so that I can dance with my daughter at her wedding." No dream or goal is too small and your health is your wealth.
