Hi, my name is Sergio, MMA fighter and Strength and Conditioning Coach.

With over 15 years of experience in competing internationally, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills that I'm eager to share with you. As a former US Olympic Training Center athlete, and an MMA competitor, I have had the opportunity to train with some of the best coaches and athletes in the world now my goal is to share it with others.

    I was excited to go to NMU and really liked how it felt like a community. While the COVID-19 outbreak is tragic and scary, NMU has been exceptional in their response to this. They have done a great job of listening to their students, keeping us informed, and trying to keep things as close to normal as possible.     To work with a new student, I begin with an initial assessment to understand their skill level, fitness level, and any injuries. From there we set a plan to achieve those results guaranteed.
    I hold a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology which has provided me with a solid foundation in human anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, and sports nutrition. I have a real life experience in international competition as a former US Olympic athlete. Strength and conditioning training for functional strength, developing and achieving your goals. Overall, my education and training have provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively coach individuals of all ages and levels, from beginners to professional athletes, in martial arts and strength training
    I work with beginners as well as professional athletes developing not only their Physical strength and cardiovascular system but as well as the mental aspects needed to stay motivated and push yourself through workouts.
    Find someone that will keep you accountable and constantly challenge you not only physically but mentally.
    Students should consider the following: What are my goals for this class/course? What are my expectations for communication and feedback from the teacher? What challenges or obstacles may I face in this class/course and how can the teacher help me overcome them? How can I communicate my needs and concerns effectively to the teacher?
