About
I personalize the training to each individual student. Whether you want to learn the sport, get in shape, build confidence, or just pick up a new hobby, boxing is a great vehicle to many destinations.
I enjoy watching students progress in fitness and technique, and get to the point where they can defend themselves and enjoy the art.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will gladly answer any questions via phone or email prior to booking to help inform your decision. We will begin with a 60-minute intro session taking you through the basics of the martial arts and using the entire 3,000 sq ft facility to give a realistic simulation of further sessions. During this session we will assess your ability/skill level and goals and discuss scheduling preferences. You'll get a great workout in and if you decide it's the right fit for you and that you'd like to continue we'll form a plan for your future training program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a current professional boxing license. I've successfully trained hundreds of clients of all ages and skill levels with over 12 years of boxing / kickboxing training experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am currently offering 50% off a 60-minute introductory session. Further sessions are priced in packs with discounts based on package size. There are NO additional fees. Gym access and private lot parking during your scheduled session time are included and equipment (gloves, shoes, hand-wraps) is available.
How did you get started teaching?
Boxing is the family business! I grew up in my dad's boxing/kickboxing gym that has been operating in the Venice area for 35 years. I became a licensed boxer myself and started training my own clients 12 years ago.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with adults, kids, elderly, men, women, persons with disabilities, injured, and overweight. Skill levels I train range from those stepping into the ring for the first time to those training to fight competitively. Ability levels range from those just beginning their fitness journey to seasoned athletes looking for their next challenge. If you are unsure about your ability to engage in boxing or kickboxing workouts, feel free to reach out and we can discuss modifications and accommodations.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the provider you are considering is aligned with your expectations and goals. Ask the provider to describe what you will be doing during a typical session. Consider if the location is convenient for you. What equipment is available (do they have a boxing ring, heavy bags, weight equipment)? If you prefer a completely private setting, ask if other trainers would be training their clients during your session. Ask how much of the session you are paying for is spent in the ring vs doing drills, bag work, stretching, etc. If sparring is something you are interested in, ask if they can accommodate this. Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions to find the best provider for your needs!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Do you want to pursue this as a workout, or as a martial art? What do you expect from your trainer? What is your budget for training? How many days per week do you want to commit to training?
