LEVEL-UP YOUR: SKILL • STRENGTH • CONFIDENCE • SPIRIT

JOIN THE JSA TRIBE, AND LEVEL-UP THROUGH DISCOVERY, CHALLENGES, AND EXPERIENCE!

Discover how learning jiu-jitsu and strength training will not only teach you valuable skills, build your confidence, get you in incredible shape… but it’s also just fun! … and the members of the JSA Tribe are pretty awesome too 🙂

DISCOVER JIU-JITSU

Jiu-Jitsu is a special martial art.  It’s hard to put an exact phrase or word that describes the feeling you have when Discovering this incredible martial art.  It affects us on so many levels…

Physical:  Get stronger, lose weight, get tough, and transfor yourself into a “modern warrior”.

Mental: Build confidence, feel better about yourself, overcome challenges… There’s nothing better for the mind then just training Jiu-Jitsu

Spiritual: Training Marital Arts and Jiu-Jitsu makes you a better person.  You help others, trust others, and become more connected to your training partners, friends and family.

DEFEND YOURSELF & PROTECT YOUR FAMILY

At the JSA, this is one of our top priorities.  There is a very pressing and growing need for everyone to have the ability to protect themselves and those they care about.  Our Reality-Based Self-Defense and Jiu-Jitsu programs not only give you the skills to defend yourself, but most importantly: the confidence and ability.

BUILD CONFIDENCE

As a martial artist – whether you realize it or not – you build your confidence every time you show up to your classes. Just bowing and stepping onto the mat or into the gym takes courage and every time you do it, you get stronger.

OVERCOME CHALLENGES

By training, you know you can handle anything that comes your way, because you expose yourself to challenging situations and perform at your best. You are building or “conditioning” your confidence, making it stronger with every class. You are training yourself to focus and perform under pressure, no matter what the situation may be that is causing the pressure.

A STRONGER, FITTER, YOU.

Going to “the gym” is just boring!  When you train and learn martial arts, you’re not only learning life-saving skills; but you’re building muscle, burning fat AND increasing your endurance.  Most of our new students experience a 5lb to 20lb weight loss in their first month!  They also have increased strength and endurance to train and continue progressing.

DEVELOP LIFE-LONG FRIENDSHIPS

There is a special bond that takes place when people train and develop together.  It’s unlike any other relationship.  Your training partners will become your brothers, sisters and family.  You will come to find that no matter what, the JSA Family is here for you.

How did you get started teaching?

Our goal at the JSA is provide you with everything you need to learn and excel at jiu-jitsu, learn how to fight and get stronger & in-shape.

The JSA is 4,700 sq/f facilty featuring a martial arts training area, our strength gym and our fitness room. We offer classes 7-days week that include Combat Ju-Jitsu (Kobukai), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Strength Athletics and TRX Fusion Classes

The JSA was founded by me, Matt Bryers, a jiu-jitsu instructor, jiu-jitsu student, strongman training instructor, competitor and someone who has a strong desire to work with others and help them improve their lives physically and mentally.

My goal of the JSA was to create an environment that I wanted to train in and be a part of. I wanted to create a school where anyone could enjoy and learn jiu-jitsu and discover the amazing benefits of physical activity.

What types of students have you worked with?

The JSA has around 150 members, mostly adults.  We offer kids classes, but focus heavily on adult martial arts and strength training.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Check out the school and get a feel for the instructors, academy and the students.  If you feel like it's a place where you can "hang out" and be around like-minded people, then give it a shot!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Think about WHY they want to learn martial arts and /or strength training.  What sparked your insterest, what made you start looking for classes?
