Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Evaluation is key to understanding the goals..we evaluate and cator to the needs of the student...we train and mentor vased on that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been studying Martial Arts for over 20 years, I am a 12 year Navy Veteran, and was a Recreational Basketball Coach.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is based on the plan that you want or based on classes.
Other things that can change pricing is the location wether I go to you or you come to me.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching during my senior year in High School. I was on the swim team and spent a lot of time with the trainer who taught me a lot. I also had been doing Martial Arts for a while and that help develop my training and started doing one on one...40 plus years later and I am still doing it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all types of students of all ages, Madd2Fit does not discriminate and we aim to help.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Just recently a student of mine who is in the Army came back and ask to be trained again because he love how he felt when I trained him and how I never gave up. Not only that meant a lot by son who is 8 years old heard it and said "Daddy your good" that got me choked up and made me love what I do that much more. My son wakes up with me and wants joins me in my workouts now, is an amazing feeling.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be fooled by all the certifications and hype, a great trainer/coach is not great due to paper but due to the results he can provide and the actuall knowledge they have based on experience. As a veteran I am picky of where I train and who trains me, I am not easily impress and neither should you. Pick the right trainer and take your time, if your no comfortable with the way they teach, speak, or make you feel that trainer is not for you. I am honest and will guide you even if it means recommending another trainer that may be better suited for you. I am not ashame to show my weakness as it allows you to see that I am not here for me but for you. Stay true to who you are and look for the person that makes you feel right.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask pricing, lol...very important to know what it cost upfront no shame on that.
Ask what the training is like, you want to make sure the training is up to your level.
Ask how often do you have to train, to understand the commitment your about to embark in and see if you can do it.
Ask if this can be done virtually as well, with the way things are some trainer like myself can do both.
Aks if there is a contract or if it is a month to month or day to day, I cater to all in order to make things easier so always ask.
Ask if there is a free try out , maybe you can test things out and see if you like it. I know I do it and I know most do it.
Ask anything that comes to mine that is important for you to know, the more you ask the better you will feel and the more we get to know you as well.
