Personal Track And Field Throwing Event Coaching
About
Former Division I thrower at Princeton University offering personalized 1-on-1 coaching in discus, shot put, hammer throw, and strength training.
As a high school athlete, I competed among the top discus and shot put throwers in New Jersey and nationally, breaking school records while competing alongside future Olympians. I was recruited by all 8 Ivy League schools, along with Division I programs including Stanford and Duke, as well as top Division III academic programs such as MIT and University of Chicago before ultimately choosing Princeton.
At Princeton, I trained under former Olympian Fred Samara and alongside Olympian Julia Ratcliffe. Those experiences shaped not only how I train, but also how I approach mentorship and athlete development.
Beyond throwing technique and strength training, my goal is to help athletes build confidence, discipline, resilience, and composure under pressure — skills that carry beyond sports into academics, careers, and life.
Training may include throwing technique, event-specific drills, strength programming, Olympic lifting, plyometrics, and competition preparation depending on the athlete’s goals and experience level. When schedules allow, I’m also open to attending meets to provide live coaching and feedback during competition.
I believe strong fundamentals and proper technique are the foundation of long-term success in the throwing events, and I enjoy helping athletes develop those habits over time.
My preference is to work with athletes interested in long-term development rather than short-term training. Building a strong athlete takes consistency and trust, and I enjoy working closely with athletes and families over multiple seasons as they continue to improve.
For athletes pursuing collegiate athletics, I’m also happy to offer guidance on recruiting when appropriate. While no coach can guarantee recruitment or scholarships, I can provide mentorship, perspective, and resources through both my own experience and the relationships I’ve maintained since competing at Princeton.
