I've been working out since college and have tried many modes of exercise over the years and Myofitness is by far the best. Tim and his team of experts deliver quality workouts and nutritional advice. I dropped 12 pounds in 5 months and gained considerable muscle mass to fit comfortably into new pants. (I have 3 kids & am in my 40s so this is no easy task)! The workouts are fun (only 45 minutes!!!) and motivate me to keep going. Motivation is one of the keys to any successful program. Highly recommend.

Motivating myself to work out has always been a struggle for me. I always look forward to working out with Tim though because of his positive attitude and patience! He does a great job of diversifying the experience to keep it interesting and to ensure we are reaching our full potential. Tim can find a way to create a workout in any environment. He's very knowledgeable and can always tell you exactly what you're working, what you need to stretch, and how to recover from a workout. Tim is great!

I don't even really like to work out, but when I do I work out with Tim! Every session is well thought out, and it is fun. Tim is able to turn any environment into a great workout experience (Gym, Track, Bleachers, Bands, jump rope, medicine balls, weights, treadmills, etc). Regardless of the venue, there is a purpose for every movement - focused on results and safety.

Coach Tim offered parents of varsity athletes the opportunity to work out with him over the past few years. I went the first time thinking "how hard could it be" but after I was finished i could hardly move (in a good way) i was so sore. went back several times and enjoyed the workout every time. he really knows his stuff and pushes you harder than you would push yourself. also a really good guy.

I’ve worked with Tim for several months now and he has introduced me to a whole new way to work out! He is very knowledgeable and continues to help you stay motivated and improve throughout the entire workout! My teenage son has also been working out with team for about a year and I have never seen him so motivated to get in shape and strong for the season! Tim keeps it fun!

Tim does an amazing job of tailoring exercise programs to a person's individual needs. He is creative and knowledgeable. You will rarely do the same session twice. He can also help you make an come back from and work through injuries.

What I love  most about my job is getting to know new people. I like sharing my 25 years of fitness experience and education with them and watching them transform inside and out.

I would highly recommend Myofitness! Tim's workouts are quick, effective and make you sweat. He's very knowledgeable about the human body and creates workouts based on your personal goals. He curates different routines every time so it never feels stale and he has an incredible ability to make workouts actually fun! If you want to get in great shape and have a good time doing so, Myofitness is for you.

Tim and the entire Myofitness team are educated with both nutrition and exercise. They go beyond and help design custom work outs that fit into your schedule. They design high intensity workouts that really keep you going. I have know Tim for over 15 years and can assure you that you won't go wrong selecting Myofitness.

Working out with Tim completely changed my perspective on what it means to be healthy and in shape. He will introduce you to countless new exercises and explain to you exactly how each helps you become stronger and faster or be better conditioned. He is highly motivational, and I've always managed to laugh and have fun even in during the most difficult workouts. I'm a high school athlete playing two sports, and I've had training sessions with Tim 3-4 days a week in my offseason for about two years; I've seen a dramatic improvement in my strength in particular, something that has definitely transferred over into my sport performance.

Tim is a fantastic trainer who uses cutting edge training methods to achieve results for his clients. He provides his clients with information beyond just the workout, including nutrition and healthy cooking guidelines.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We do an extensive assessment, we assess nutrition, health questions, over head squat test, balance test, push-up test and core test. After the assessment we give you your assessment results on how you did, then we give you a three month workout syllabus based on your results, limitations and goals. The workout syllabus gives you the name of the workout for each month, what exercise mediums we will use and the scientific rational behind what the workout is supposed to do to your body.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 25 years experience being a certified trainer and 5 of the best certifications you can get through National Academy of Sports Medicine, a BS. in Science and two classes left for my Masters in Physical Therapy.  I have helped 100's of people get in great shape and become more healthy.

How did you get started teaching?

I got inspired to pursue the fitness route after an injury playing college football, I spent months in and out of Physical Therapy. My injury helped me learn how to help others with  back injuries. My extensive education background in Physical Therapy helps a lot too.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have been the head strength & conditioning coach at Fox Chapel High School for a couple years and have worked with 100's of students, many have gone on to play at division 1 colleges.

Over the past 25 years I have also worked with 100's of adults, I still have several clients that have been with me for over 20 years.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I like to give back to the comunity, so I have a pay it forward workout every Saturday at 9am at Fox Chapel High School.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure they have a great certification.

Here are the best certifications;

ACSM, ACE, NASM, and NSCA are all accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). NCCA accreditation is generally held as the standard for the field—certifying bodies must undergo comprehensive evaluation and regular renewals to keep this accreditation.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Are they going to put 100% effort into the workouts and meal plans, if not, don't waste your money. You only get out what you put into it.
