Aikido of Arlington, founded in 1989, is a prominent martial arts dojo located in Arlington, Virginia, and extending to surrounding areas. The dojo specializes in Iwama-ryu or traditional aikido, a discipline developed by O'Sensei. The dojo has a rich history with Sensei Don Lyon, a student of O'Sensei's direct student, Morihiro Saito Sensei. Following his passing, the dojo's teaching duties were assumed by Sensei Yvonne Thelwell, an uchi-deshi trainee under Morihiro Saito Sensei in Iwama, Japan.
